There are tons of these listed here. I did some research and this seemed to be the best quality for the money. When I received it and started using it I was pleasantly surprised of the quality. It is a solid design, that feels sturdy and well balanced, and it doesn't slide all over the place on its own like some other manufacturers' products tend to. i was surprised at the quality of this product. Much more heavier then products at my local cheap tool store. I like the way they give you a set of extra batteries too, that was nice. The tool itself is in a blue plastic case and keeps it safe from accidental drops. The measurements are easily switchable into different units, including metric and US inches which is great. I didn't see the max width it measures but i'd assume it's less then 10 inches abouts. The roller works fine and you can just manually pull it wider as well so it functions easily. Nice heavy metal construction. Great build quality. 2032 batteries are great - the other models that use LR44's are hard to find batteries for. The display is slighty weird - the thousandth units are in a tiny font and hard to read - but that's a minor gripe. I use high quality Mitutoyo and Starrett's at work and just needed an affordable set for the house - these work great for that application. ... show more
