  • Better than expensive calipers
Model: 004-4
Great Caliper with a durable case. I use the caliper to check image registration on paper that runs through printers. The measurements are accurate in inches or millimeters. The construction is durable and not easily bendable. Easy to use and reliable. Battery will last a long time. There is smooth movement when using the positioning wheel to expand the caliper. Great product for the money. Easy to read display and easy use. ... show more

  • Good quality. Worth the price.
Model: 004-2
Some things that just cannot do without this. So then we buy one , a good quality product which is a must have. I didn't find anything bad or wrong with it unless you were measuring diamonds ! And if it would do right by you or not I don't know.

  • Good caliper for $20.
Model: 004-2
Just received. Very good delivery time. Battery was drained when it arrived. On/Off switch sensitive. Suspect caliper turned on during shipping. Replaced battery with one of 2 provided. Seems like a clean, functional design. Easy to use, though a bit heavy. Large display numbers. Easy to read. Easy to change from mm to dec in to fraction in. Very fine readings for accuracy. I have no reliable means of verifying calibration accuracy available. For my wood shop it will be close enough. Quality seems good. Nice plastic case with battery compartment screwdriver and 2 batteries well secured in case. For $20, before tax, well worth the money for my hobby shop. ... show more

  • Does the Job in a Modern Way
Model: 004-2
Got this to replace a 1960s dial caliper a retired machinist gave me. Loved that old caliper but it would no longer reset to zero, measured imperial units only, and would have cost over $100 to refurbish (probably not bad given that the machinist paid $50 for it way back then - about $500 today). Made a decent buck on selling it to an antique tool collector who, oddly enough, recommended this modern unit selling for less than $20. And he was right. It does everything effortlessly and I no longer have to convert to metric on the fly or try to figure out exactly what the dial is telling me. Appreciate it comes with 3 button cell batteries (it uses just 1 at a time) and a nice hard case to store it all in. My only gripe, and it's a minor one, involves the screws holding the battery top on. They are so small it's difficult for my old eyes to see them. Fortunately, the battery top slides into place and is secure without the screws so I'm okay for now. Better grab one while you can! ... show more

  • Technical Comparison: Accuracy and Power Draw Results
Model: 004-2
I was choosing between this and a manual dial caliper, so I ran some bench tests to see how they compared. I used reference blocks from my micrometer set, and interestingly, both the analog and digital units showed zero errors at the 1", 2", 3", and 4" marks. Since battery drain is the main downside of digital tools, I checked the power consumption with a multimeter. This unit draws 17 µA when on and 15 µA when off. With a standard LR44 battery (150 mAh), that translates to about 10,000 hours (or 416 days) of storage life. Even though accuracy was a wash between the two types, I went with this unit because the digital display is easier to read and being able to toggle between inches, millimeters, and fractions is very convenient. It’s been solid so far, but I’ll have to see how the electronics hold up over the long term. ... show more

  • Very good accuracy for the price Very good accuracy for the price
Model: 004-2
I got this because I recently got into 3D printing and needed a way to get better measurements. I had originally purchased a different one, but it didn't include the fractions function. Not sure that I'll use it too often, but I'd rather have the option. This kynup caliper was a reasonable price and has, so far, been great. The metal feels durable, and it slides easily for measuring. The plastic storage case is decent quality, and the included extra batteries are appreciated. The tolerances are very good. I know they're not spot on, but that's to be expected at the price. They claim accuracy +/- at no more than .04mm, which seems to be close to what I'm seeing, but it might be slightly more at larger distances. However, the accuracy has been very good for modeling 3D objects for printing. I designed a battery case for my 80V tools, so that I can use it across a couple brands of yards tools. This thing helped me get it almost exact. ... show more
