I don’t use this every day but when I do need it, it works well for me. I would recommend this,also comes with an extra battery and a nice case works smooth and seems well built easy to calibrate. It looks good too.

I have used these for 8 working days. The zero reset is so far off its ridiculous. The measurement display sometimes doesn't even work when moving the jaws open slowly for the first 2 inches, then the indicated measurement jumps to 21+ inches. The measured reading many times "runs away"...it starts off looking like a normal reading, then just keeps on climbing. When it does work, the reported measurement is so far off it makes these calipers worthless. Look at the image above.....does that look like 47.662 inches to you? And I thought these were 12 inch maximum. Complete junk. And just in case someone mentions using a fresh battery, it was just bought and installed. Don't waste your money on this junk, and buy Mitutoyo. Yeah, they are much more expensive, but when you need your calipers to work, Mitutoyo always works, unlike these which may or may not work. If you can't trust them, which I can't, they are worthless. I have until Sept 8 to return these, and if the seller will contact me, I'd like to try an exchange set. I really like the fraction feature, and want these to work properly. UPDATE September 28: This afternoon I emailed the company asking about an exchange for my problem calipers. Within a few minutes I had a reply, and they are sending me a replacement set to try. So for now, the rating goes from 1 Star to 3 Stars for their excellent and quick customer support. If the new set works as advertised, they will be a 5 Star set of calipers. Stay tuned! UPDATE October 1: Since speaking with Vick at Clockwise tools on Friday September 28 (late in the evening), I received a replacement caliper in the mail late today. That was fast! And it came with a Calibration Certificate, which is a welcomed plus. I didn't have the time to test it in real life, but will check it against the shop's Calibrated Gauge Blocks tomorrow. I don't know if it was just me, but this caliper had a much better feel to it than the first set. I'll run it for a week or two and report back. UPDATE October 14: In the past two weeks, I have used these calipers 100% of the time, after I checked them on the shop's gauge blocks. These are spot on as far as calibration goes. After two weeks, they have performed flawlessly. No measurement jumps, no runaway measurements, or any of the other problems I had with the first set. I'd like to thank Vick at Clockwise for his help and generosity in providing a new, calibrated set. These are accurate, easy to use (love the fractional readout) and well worth the money. I see no reason you shouldn't buy these, and if you happen to get a bad set as I did, rest assured Vick at Clockwise Tolls will make it right. 5 Stars, and a great value set of calipers. ... show more

The DCLR-0805 is a great caliper at a very reasonable price. Fit and finish are beautiful and the caliper is silky smooth to operate. The accuracy and repeatability are spot on and the large display is a pleasure to view. The auto-on and, even more importantly, the auto-off features make these calipers even more impressive. My biggest surprise came when I had a small issue with my first caliper. I emailed Clockwise Tools and, in very short order, heard back from Vick. Vick immediately offered to send a replacement unit and even held off shipping as I was going away before the unit would arrive. On my anticipated return date, Vick reached out to verify that it was okay to ship the replacement caliper; there was no need for me to chase him down or deal with someone else. Well made, feature rich calipers at reasonable prices plus friendly, attentive, customer service have left me thoroughly impressed with Vick and Clockwise Tools. I am extremely particular about my tools and I can comfortably say that there's no need to look any further for a great digital caliper. I love the quality, and big, easy to read display. It is fairly heavy which seems to indicate quality, and it works perfectly well. I bought this because of the locking pin on the top, metal jaws, the big display, and reduced price. I find the buttons for on/off/zero are in a spot that sometimes get pressed accidentally while using it, but it does do what it is supposed to. I have a super cheap composite digital caliper also, and use it for most everything because it is so light and easy to use, but when I want to transfer a measurement by dragging the metal jaws along my metal piece to score a light line into the metal directly I use these. Accuracy seems to be about the same as my cheap ones. Advice: get ones with metal jaws and a locking screw. ... show more

This is a very nice digital calipers. It is accurate and the different units are very useful: I regularly use both the mm and inch scales and the fractional inch scale is great for measuring drill bits and other tool/shop/home items in the US. It gives the same values to within 0.001 inch as an old Brown & Sharpe physical inch micrometer that someone gave me. Other good features: easy to zero, easy to turn off, auto-off, nice case to protect it. The original battery died very quickly, but the 2nd one that was included has been going for months. This is a great tool and I consider this one of the best purchases I've made in the last year. ... show more

My profession is Quality Assurance and I use calipers daily. At work I use a really nice (and really expensive) set of calipers; I wanted something to keep at home for my own projects but didn’t want to spend that kind of money. I found these on Amazon and decided to give them a try. I have to say they are REALLY nice calipers, not even considering the price. When you factor in how affordable they are, they really are hard to beat. The movement is nice and smooth. The readout is clear and easy to read. There’s no flex or wiggle, everything is solid. And they are also accurate and repeatable. They also come with a nice solid case and extra battery. I hope they last a decent while, because my impression after having used them a bit is really positive. ... show more

This is actually not just anothe version of the same cheap caliper from china. This one is good quality product that works as expected and doesn't cost a fortune. It uses big, easy to change battery, has additional port so you can connect it to PC and simple case. Previous unnamed caliper worked for a few years yet failed and now resets it self all the time. Hope this works longer as I use it maybe once a month for my 3d printing projects ... show more
