I really like the look of this sofa. It has a really nice velvet sheen and I'd say its actual color is very accurately represented in the product images as well as the pictures I provided. The overall build quality is pretty good and it feels sturdy. I like the way the split back folds down and the mechanism that latches into place to hold the back rest at pre-set angles works very well also. I have this in a guest room where it will primarily be used for sitting and watching TV. It's not super comfortable but it's fine. The seat and back are both firm but they do have some give. I generally prefer more of a firm feel rather than sinking into a giant marshmallow but I'm sure that some people will not love the comfort level of this futon. I haven’t opened it up to use as a bed but when laying on it in the couch configuration it is quite comfortable, substantially more so than when sitting. As for delivery and assembly I have no major complaints. The sofa arrived in a square box and all of the large velvet pieces were wrapped in black cloth bags which both protected it during shipping and provided a helpful aid when dragging it up the stairs. One corner of the shipping box was kind of shredded but there was zero damage whatsoever to the sofa or even the cloth packing cover for that matter. Assembly was fairly easy and consisted of less than 10 steps. The whole project took me about 2 hours total including the time to unbox it, drag it upstairs, and unwrap and account for all of the hardware. As for assembly time itself, it was probably a little more than an hour. My only minor complaint or thing to note is that a few of the nuts/bolts where the arms attach to the base are extremely hard to access with the provided wrench. I ended up using a ratchet with a 12 MM socket. I didn't try for very long to tighten the nuts with the provided wrench but my initial impression was that it was going to be extremely annoying and perhaps even impossible on a couple of them. So I'd say you'll probably want to have a ratchet and socket or a box wrench handy. Overall this was a good choice for a handsome, if not super comfortable, sofa at a reasonable price. ... show more

I’m writing this review on the day the couch arrived, so I don’t know durability. Wow, this couch is a pleasant surprise! It arrived sooner than expected (was quoted 1/8-1/24 and it arrived 1/4) and was quick & easy to assemble. There were no quality issues and all holes lined up. The color is as shown, a dark royal blue. The couch is soft to the touch, due the fabric type. The seat is firm, as many stated, but I was truly expecting it to be a rock and it’s not bad at all. We are using this couch in the basement for my teens, and for the price, it exceeds my expectations. If you were to put this on the main level of your house, I wouldn’t suggest this as your main couch - unless you set your expectations correctly. It looks nice, just not sure how long it’ll last (due to the price) and it is firm (so may not be great for binge watching Netflix!). Fingers crossed it will hold up to teenage boys, but so far it seems great (sturdy, level, quite comfy). ... show more

My boyfriend found this item easy to assemble alone. The price was right in our budget and we did a lot of online looking due to not wanting to spend too much without seeing a piece of furniture in person before purchasing, but this was perfect. We absolutely were blown away by the rich blue colour. It is exactly what we were looking for. We have this couch in our reading room so we don't sit on it for hours but we do read on it and sit on it at other times. It is very firm but we both are working on our posture so we find it to be very helpful and comfy. I am quite heavy and this couch is very sturdy, I never feel concerned, doesn't even creak or anything. The different angles show the colour in the natural light and how the back of the futon looks. This is beautiful enough to be a piece in your home while also being a fold down futon for a guest! ... show more

I am absolutely in love with my new green velvet couch! It’s very sturdy and it should be at 124 lbs. The instructions say that a person can put it together in about an hour. I’m a biological female who is used to putting together furniture and it took me 2.5 hours to assemble it by myself. The instructions were super easy, I think it was just because it was so very heavy to move around. Currently the cushions are firm and that’s the reason I chose this couch. It’s not uncomfortable and I’m actually quite comfortable on it as a futon too. I look forward to having this mid century modern couch for many years to come. ... show more
