I really like the look of this sofa. It has a really nice velvet sheen and I'd say its actual color is very accurately represented in the product images as well as the pictures I provided. The overall build quality is pretty good and it feels sturdy. I like the way the split back folds down and the mechanism that latches into place to hold the back rest at pre-set angles works very well also. I have this in a guest room where it will primarily be used for sitting and watching TV. It's not super comfortable but it's fine. The seat and back are both firm but they do have some give. I generally prefer more of a firm feel rather than sinking into a giant marshmallow but I'm sure that some people will not love the comfort level of this futon. I haven’t opened it up to use as a bed but when laying on it in the couch configuration it is quite comfortable, substantially more so than when sitting. As for delivery and assembly I have no major complaints. The sofa arrived in a square box and all of the large velvet pieces were wrapped in black cloth bags which both protected it during shipping and provided a helpful aid when dragging it up the stairs. One corner of the shipping box was kind of shredded but there was zero damage whatsoever to the sofa or even the cloth packing cover for that matter. Assembly was fairly easy and consisted of less than 10 steps. The whole project took me about 2 hours total including the time to unbox it, drag it upstairs, and unwrap and account for all of the hardware. As for assembly time itself, it was probably a little more than an hour. My only minor complaint or thing to note is that a few of the nuts/bolts where the arms attach to the base are extremely hard to access with the provided wrench. I ended up using a ratchet with a 12 MM socket. I didn't try for very long to tighten the nuts with the provided wrench but my initial impression was that it was going to be extremely annoying and perhaps even impossible on a couple of them. So I'd say you'll probably want to have a ratchet and socket or a box wrench handy. Overall this was a good choice for a handsome, if not super comfortable, sofa at a reasonable price. ... show more

Bought this kinda as a starter couch for my fiancé and I, we knew it was cheap and we don't have high hopes that it'll last for years to come (I'll update this review later on to verify that) but we wanted a nice looking couch for friends to crash on. It looks very nice, a high sheen velvet type material that seems durable enough (but we shall see). It was delivered a couple days early which for us was great and it was a super easy delivery. One big box with everything inside (fit through the doorway easily). The box came with the couch, all the nuts and bolts, the tools needed, and an instruction booklet. The booklet was very easy to follow and all the parts were labeled well. From start to finish it probably took my fiancé and I under thirty minutes to put together. One person could probably do it on their own except there is one point where we found it was easiest to lay the couch upside-down on a coffee table to screw the arms of the couch in, so maybe a second person would help there but I don't think it's impossible to do it with one. When folded out into a bed it seems surprisingly sturdy (I'm around 150lbs and laid entirely on the folded out section and felt no give). I will say that the grey is a tad on the blue grey side (not that we minded but just letting you know). The biggest issue I have with it and it's not even that big of a deal but it's a little more firm than I had wanted but like I said earlier, it is super cheap for a couch. Over all I think for the price this is a great purchase and it will look nice and serve us well for a couple years. ... show more

    • Decent and firm sofa
I've only had this futon for a week, but so far I think it's decent. It looks beautiful, just as pictured, and is easy to fold down into a bed or back into a sofa. It also fits my boyfriend comfortably, who is 6'3", and it was relatively easy to assemble. Certainly it looks more expensive than it is, which makes it so worth the price. When I first put it together, it was extremely firm, which worried me. Sometimes when reviews state that a chair or sofa is uncomfortable or firm, it's somewhat subjective and I haven't always agreed with them. In this case, however, the futon is quite firm and I'm not sure how comfortable it would be for guests to actually sleep on. I was hoping that in time it would wear in nicely to make it more comfortable, and thankfully that seems like it may be the case. After several uses, it seems to be getting more comfortable, whether from softening up or from me adjusting to either. Either way, I'm pleased with this purchase and glad to have nabbed it when I did. It arrived quite quickly with all needed parts included and hopefully will be a long term addition to our living room. ... show more
