I unpacked and assembled the king in 'beige.' All 3 boxes say 'king size' from Malaysia. The design and sturdiness is impressive. Parts and process is straightforward and comes with good directions. The beige is a very light linen or cream color. The bed framing is MDF veneered with rubber wood and is very structurally sound. The corner legs are solid rubberwood. Other reviews citing finish smells are true not consequential since this is gone within a day or two of air exposure. The rubberwood finish is a matt walnut color. Our existing 13" mattress fits well in the frame. The photo shows how a 13" mattress fits RE headboard. There is virtually no movement; very stable. The slats are about 12" off the floor so the total bed height is higher than many modern platform beds. There were I think 8 centrally located vertical legs arranged in two columns in addition to the 4 visible corner legs. After the first few nights we are quite pleased. If ordering a new mattress, I would keep it at 10-11" max for the best appearance and height. ... show more

Update: the seller sent us a new undamaged headboard. Construction was relatively easy, the hardware wasn’t separated so it’s helpful to take a little bit and separate the screws and washers. Once together, the bed is very sturdy. Do follow the directions about not tightening bolts before the full frame is together, had some pieces that didn’t quite line up and a tight bolt was the culprit. We are happy with the bed and for the price can’t be beat. Pretty disappointed, the box looked like it fell off a truck. Upon opening we instantly noticed that the headboard was cracked and in two pieces. The finish is beautiful and seems like it would be a pretty sturdy bed. Customer service hasn’t returned any messages about a refund or replacement. I’ll change my review if the new one comes in undamaged. ... show more

This is a solid bed. Our last bed was twice as much and broke within a year. This is heavy duty and looks extremely nice. A friend commented she wished she could afford a solid wood bed like ours..haha! The color is beautiful, the headboard is actually comfy enough to lean on, and it has held up to our huge family lounging in it! It's not so low that you can't fit stuff underneath which I appreciate, yet it still has a rather low profile. My 9 year old and I put it together ourselves in a few hours which was also a huge bonus. It fit out big fat 15 in mattress like a glove! I usually don't write lengthy reviews, but this bed is a steal for the price!! ... show more

Likes: all parts were included in packaging and the frame was packaged very well; frame appears to be very sturdy. We used two Twin XL mattresses and they fit perfectly. Like amount of storage room under the bed. Frame looks sleek with combination of fabrics with wood surround. Dislikes: Frame has unusual smell but after one week seems to be fading; husband handy at putting together otherwise you may need some help with the assembly. ... show more

Screws missing on arrival, one of the adjuster screw isn’t straight at all. Center rail could barely reach the end of the bed frame and obviously the screw holes won’t match. The pieces are dirty like they dig it up from trash out in the dessert. Spent two hours trying to assemble it then found the center rail couldn’t even fit. What a joke ... show more

We had been looking at cost effective king beds for two years. Although there are many options, our biggest concern was sturdiness, as many had marginal weight limits that didn’t seem to allow two normal size people plus a king mattress. This product is very sturdy, well designed, elegant and assembled exactly like the instructions. All the pre drilled holes lined up and are metal-to-metal connections vs wood screws into wood. The only recommendation is to purchase your own two long handled allen wrenches for less than $10, sizes M5 and M6, for ease of tightening the bolts. We did not use an electric drill to avoid any possibility of the screws. This bed was worth the wait. ... show more

Assembly was relatively simple, though I would recommend working with at least one other person for ease in putting the frame together.
