  • Great Value
I waited to write a review until after I used it a bit. Assembly: Make sure you watch the YouTube videos versus trying to use the printed instructions. I purchased the smith press and a lat attachment. It took me a few hours to assemble everything. Squats: This is why you would buy a smith press, so you can squat a decent amount of weight and not kill yourself. This machine is a little different than the ones you would use at the gym. This bar weighs more than a 45lb olympic bar. The smith presses at a gym, the bar is weight assisted so it weighs much less. After you make adjustments, it feels the same as the ones at a gym. Lunges: You can do these on a smith press by dropping your leg back and bending your front leg. Not fun but effective. Bench: You need to purchase a bench separately for this. Just another way to exercise your chest. Worthwhile because the more different ways you can complete an exercise, the better. Military press: I like the smith press for military press. You need to complete the exercise sitting but it takes the stress off your lower back. Upright rows: I love the smith press for upright rows. Calf raises: You'll need to purchase a step but this is one of the best pieces of equipment to use to perform calf raises. Your other alternative is a calf machine that would seem to be a huge waste of money for just one body part. You could use a leg press but it won't be as good as a smith press with a step. Rows: Again, just another effective way to exercise your back. Pull ups: The bar is too low for my taste but it's good for stretching your upper body and hanging straps from. With the lat attachment and 200lb weight stack: Lat pull downs: This is a little bit wonky. You have to sit on a bench and once you add a decent amount of weight, you're going to feel your butt leaving the seat. You could add the chain (included) and kneel but you have to look out for the side supports. What I did was add a pad to the bar and rest that on my thighs while I complete the lat pulls. Curls: At first I was disappointed because there seemed no way I could stand up to perform these because the weight stack would run out of room on the the rails before I could complete the exercise. I completed the curls sitting down and purchased a preacher pad that I could rest on my thighs, which is a little awkward. But, if you add the section of chain (included) between the hook and whatever you're using for a bar, you can stand. Rows: I bought a metal handle to use for this. You can bend over and do one arm at a time and it works well. Triceps extension: I'm still getting used to this. It works better with the chain, although you could do it without. Sturdiness: The machine is very sturdy, especially if you store your excess weights on the rear supports. With the lat attachment, bench, and extra handles, I spent less than 2k and have everything I ever wanted for my home gym. Oh, a part was missing when it first arrived. I called their customer service number and was able to speak to a real person who sent the part priority mail and it arrived in a couple days. Later, I called the same number to order the lat attachment with a 200lb weight stack. Seems like a great company. ... show more

  • Solid, affordable Smith machine
This machine is the final piece of my garage gym puzzle. I've always wanted a Smith machine to round out my garage gym but lacked the space. I now have the space and this machine is a blast. Great for change of pace exercises like seated front presses, close grip benches, and lunge squats without having to worry about balance. I can just concentrate on pushing the weight. Great for taking a break from regular rack based lifting and throwing something different at your body for a few weeks. Assembly was a bit challenging, since I did it all alone. But with some patience and allowances for safety I managed to unbox and assemble this in a morning. All parts were accounted for and everything fit like it should. Definitely NEED to use the on line video vice written instructions . Video is spot on clear and accurate. Overall a great buy and super addition to my gym. ... show more

  • Good machine for the value but with slight faults
I have waited for over 2 months because it was out of stock. I contacted the manufacturer, and finally it was in stock again, and it was shipped by UPS. It weighed 270 lbs. I had to assist the UPS lady driver to bring into my garage. It took my wife and I more than 3 hours to assemble it. There was no way one person could do it. The top chin up bar had to be installed laying down on the floor. Kep in mind that the assembly had to be completed on the floor, then lifted all 270 lbs upright. All the bolts and nuts were bigger than my socket set so I had to use the manual wrenches that came with it. 1. There was a problem that almost stopped our assembly, the collar wouldn't fit onto the lift bar on the right side There were burrs on the bar. I had to use sand paper and lubricant to make it fit over the bar. I also had to use a hammer to knock the collar in place. I would blame the manufacturer quality control for not checking the fit. 2. Another fault was the knurling of the lift bar were not even. They were way off lengthwise. I had to measure and put black tape for the center and the grip spots. 3. Also the 2 guide bars were not quiet aligned, and required fine adjustment with the screws on the top. Too bad there was not a more precise way, like bushings on each end. The action was not smooth as it should be. NOTE: I readjusted the guide bars and applied some WD40, They worked much better now. 4. My wife was little disappointed that the bar weighed more than 45 lbs (58 lbs) as in a standard Olympic bar on the Olympic bench. She had to take the weight collars off to reduce it to 40 lbs for her, but I wouldn't be able to add our Olympic weight plates. NOTE: There are plastic adapter sleeve available in Amazon for $15 which would reduce the weight by at least 10 lbs, but the small diameter of the end of this machine was too big at 1.25 inch so other sleeve with 1.00 inch inside diameter would not fit. Deltech should have made the small diameter standard 1 inch. ****SEE last PARAGRAPH FOR UPDATE*** The biggest reason I chose this machine was the guide bars were zero vertical instead of at (7 degree - poor design) liked other more expensive Smith Machines. I have seen other manufacturer with 7 degree n the wrong side, and people in the gym pushed on the wrong side. I will update the review after I used it for awhile NOTE: I have written to DelTech but have yet received a reply. No one answered the phone. ****May 9, 2023 - Deltech replied to my e-mail and informed me that they had made special adapters and will send to me for free. I received them on May 9 and they worked perfect. (shorter but were OK). They reduced the weight 10.8 lbs.Now the bar is approx 48 lbs. See photo attached. My wife was happy. --- **** I COULDN'T HAVE ASKED FOR BETTER CUSTOMER SERVICE. **** ----4/29/2024---- This machine is still working well. I workout 2 days at home for my upper body and only go to Planet Fitness for lower body and cable. Of course I no longer had to wait for women hogging Smith Machine at PF doing their stupid thrust exercises. The action on the slides now worked great with tons of silicon. ... show more

  • Must have
Ok I don’t know where to start but I will try and make it short and sweet. If I could give them 10 stars I would. I love love this smith machine and the customer service was outstanding. This machine completed my home gym. You can do anything and everything on it. I mostly got it for leg workouts but you can do chest shoulders everything. I shared some pictures just to give you an idea. I also did not use the springs that come with it so I can go lower with the bar for my hip thrusts. When I first got the machine I had a little problem with it after it was put together. First of all I did add the springs and I did not like it because the bar did not go low enough for hip thrusts or dead lifts. I’m only 5’2” so I needed more room so I removed them. The issue I had after my husband and put the machine together was that the bar did not balance out with the hooks. One side was higher than the other and it was not very smooth. I emailed the company and they got back to me in less than a day. They tried to figure out the issue but since they could not see what was wrong they shipped me a new bar and connectors. They shipped it FedEx so I got it within 3 days. After putting the new bar in and connectors the machine works absolutely amazing. I am so super happy with it. Putting it together was not hard at all. My husband is very handy so it was not a problem at all. Very good instructions. It took me a very long time to choose a smith machine but I’m so glad I chose this one even though it did not have more than one review. I also love this one because it has a pull up bar that I also use for my TRX band, hanging ab workouts and pull ups. The bar alone after its all put together weighs 70lbs so if you are a girl when you do bench presses you will not need much weight. I know this bench will last for a very long time. It is very strong and sturdy. I really love it for my leg workouts. I am a NPC bikini competitor and it has helped me grow my glutes and legs. I can’t believe that there aren’t many review for this machine so I wanted to make sure that I wrote a review. It is so worth the money. And again, the customer service is amazing. This is a must have machine. I would give it 10 stars if I could but it only allows me to give it 5. Don’t hesitate to purchase it. You will love it. I am so thankful to have been able to order it before this pandemic started because right now I know that with the gyms closed and it’s so hard to get any equipment on line but if you can get your hands on this smith machine don’t wait. Enjoy your workouts. ... show more

  • This machine delivers action!
I love the commercial gym machine quality that I get when using this equipment. The vertical bearing system gives the true feeling of “free weight lifting” on any vertical lift exercise; bench press, barbell squats, and triceps rack-lockouts to mention a few. Assembly is extremely easy, although, cheap wrenches are provided to complete the job, I recommend that you use a 19mm and a 17mm socket and a ratchet to help with fast and easy tightening. Don’t tighten any of the bolts until the whole unit has been assembled. Use a level to align the guide rods and the provided Allen wrench to tighten the screws on the top and the bottom of the base. The whole process requires two people working together. The smith bar and the guide rod collars have a total weight of 60Lbs. Consider this information when you calculate the total weight that you want to lift or press on your workout program. This is an excellent product. Enjoy it! ... show more

  • Practically gym quality
I have spent way more time in gyms than I care to admit. Because of covid I started a home gym and one of the items I have done without for the past couple of years is a smith machine. This unit filled the void perfectly. Safeties are solid, motion of the bar is fluid and it has a garage friendly foot print. I've only used it for a few workouts so far but I have to say I am very pleased up to this point. ... show more

  • Perfect
Wow, so I love this Smith Machine so much! I'm a 120 lb woman who can't stand the gym environment, so I decided to invest in a home gym. It's perfect for my goals; back squats, hack squats, lunges, deadlifts, calf raises, leg press (look up how to do it), bent-over rows, chest press, pull-ups, shrugs, and the list just goes on, it seems never-ending the stuff you can come up with to do on a smith machine. You can get so creative on this thing. For hip thrusts, you can't do the whole movement due to the bar not being able to go all the way to the ground, but it's not an issue to me because the limited motion, along with resistance bands around your knees, isolates those glutes. On another note, the bar is heavy as hell at 58.5 lbs. What I do is remove the weight sleeves when I need to. Both sleeves weigh 18.5 lbs. With the sleeves removed it's a 40 lb bar, so for all the chicks out there wondering, it's totally doable. And if the bar is still too much for you, you can throw a resistance band on (just make sure the band is for the weight of an Olympic bar and won't snap on you!). The other thing I appreciated was the customer service. My smith machine had a piece missing and they shipped it out to me at lightning speed. It does take some time to assemble, just follow the easy online video. Installing the pull-up bar does take two people, don't be tempted to try to install it on your own LOL. I'll be adding to my collection, using Deltech for sure! Happy I went with this machine. ... show more

  • Not stable!
I love the fact that it’s compact. However, the rack shakes from side to side ….yes, I’ve tightened the screws and have not gone over 200 pounds. The bar is not 45 pounds. It is not strong enough to hold me, 210 pounds, while doing pull/chin ups. The machine leans forward. I may have to buy sandbags to hold it down. It took a while for linear bearing machines to be back in stock. I will keep it. ... show more
