Horrible instructions. Screws all thrown in 1 bag. Need a magnifying glass to read the zero helpful instructions. Used pictures online to assemble. Other than that seems pretty sturdy.

During the assembly process I discovered all 6 casters were defective regarding the 360-degree rotation. Rotation was far from smooth. It felt like the little bearings were just rocks. This could be dangerous due to possible tipping if moving sideways while carrying a load. Also, while researching replacement casters on Amazon I noticed that almost all the casters like the original defective caster had rated capacity of 350 pounds or less. Even with 6 casters for a total 2100 pounds that is less than half the 4400-pound rated capacity of the hoist. And that doesn’t even include the recommended 25% safety factor. Please note the hoist for this review was labeled “GARVEE”. Amazon has what appears to be the exact same hoist manufactured by “DEXSO” and at the same price of $199.99. Besides needing to replace all 6 casters ($80) the hoist was pretty good.

There are so many things wrong with this hoist. The main frame that everything bolts to is welded as if the welding jig itself is built out of square. This causes everything that is bolted to the frame to be misaligned. There really is no fixing that. Other issues are the weld quality, thin sheet metal used on casters, casters missing, bolts missing, large pins missing, the ridiculous instruction assembly manual. I could buy upgraded casters, I could buy better bolts and pins but the unevenness of the completed hoist makes it unusable.

Package was damaged, and after opening, item had a big dent in it. Husband put it together anyway and then realized it was missing some bolts for the wheels. Not sure if the dent affects the operating ability as my husband has not used it yet.
