I had read that the older model of this stand wasn't compatible with all miter saws, specifically the Makita LS1013 slider that I own. Apparently the supplied mounting brackets weren't long enough for some saws with a larger footprint. Well Dewalt remedied that mistake with their newer miter saw stands, probably in an attempt to cater to more buyers and not only individuals who own certain saws. Let me tell you I am grateful that they did because it is an excellent stand and it stood out from the rest. I explored several different brands of miter saw stands before settling on this one and I definitely made the right choice. This stand is compact and lightweight but well constructed and sturdy at the same time, even supporting a heavy saw like mine. Like other have said this stand is light but not as light as you may think. I am sure Dewalt made it as light as they could without sacrificing structural integrity and stability. With that being said it still sets up and breaks down easily and is easy to transport to and from your cutting spot. The engineers came up with a nice balance of strength/durability and portability/weight with this model. Before buying this stand I was using two beat up plastic saw horses and a piece of plywood screwed to the bottom of the saw, which made transportation of the saw a two man operation. Now the saw is much easier to handle and it clicks right on to the deck of the stand nicely. Now on to function and operation of the stand. Set up out of the box was fast and only requires an adjustable or open end wrench. After that all adjustments and operations of the stand can be done by hand. All of the knobs are well made and tighten up nicely by hand, but are probably not immune to stripping so be careful. The extension wings are sturdy and tighten up nice and level. I had set the height of the end supports close to the saw and I figured that extended they would dip slightly, but I was pleasantly surprised. Totally extended they maintained a nice even and level cutting surface and they clamp up rock solid. I was also surprised at the length and weight of stock it could support without wanting to tip to one side, although the overall weight of my saw is probably adding to it's stability. I would always have a roller handy for cutting really long stock, or flimsy trim like Azek. I love having the flip up stops on each support which come in handy when you need to make several identical cuts like balusters or fence pickets. Overall the quick and easy setup and breakdown of this stand are the main reasons I bought it. That including the high quality and relatively lightweight construction, and it's compact design make this stand a great addition to your miter saw. This stand doesn't need wheels, takes up little space when broken down, and it can double as a high quality saw horse (although watch those deep blades). In the near future I am definitely investing in one or two DEWALT DWX725 Heavy Duty Work Stands to use on my job sites and in my shop/garage. In conclusion this and other Dewalt stands are well made, practical, and are worth every penny. Chuck your current setup and grab this stand and you won't regret it.

So much better than other stands I've used. I was reluctant to get this because I like the wheels on many others. I decided to trust in the Dewalt brand, always providing good tools, and went with this one. So glad I did. The support arms move freely and lock in place fast and securely. There is almost no droop in the arms, unlike my previous stand. The stops and supports on both ends are very adjustable, up/down and side to side. Basic adjustments are fast with the included fast access knobs, allowing you to work quickly. It is a bulky stand to carry, but not that heavy. Construction is rock solid, as expected. There is an alignment tab on the front to allow you to position your saw in the same place everytime and keep it from creeping, but I don't always use it. It is a nice feature, but my saw hasn't moved at all when locked down on this. There are cheaper stands, but this is well worth the extra cost. My old stand that did the job, sort of, seems like junk now that this has replaced it. Did I mention that the arms don't droop when they're extended? Awesome.

I’m astonished at the number of reviews that give this well designed saw stand 4 or less stars because of something that has little or nothing to do with the actual stand! Some people ordered the wrong stand. Some people are weaklings. The delivery company delivered to a wrong address, and others complained about the unit rusting when in their photo you can clearly see it was slammed into something and bent the metal causing the paint to chip off. How about the dewalt saw stand? Well my stand seems to defy gravity because it isn’t that heavy. My stand came to my house and my stand is sturdy and since I mounted my saw on a piece of birch plywood, it in turn is bolted to the side clamps and fits just fine. In fact I’ll bet if you did the same, your saw would fit too. I think this is a great stand with easy and fast take down legs and quick smooth extensions that slide in and lock securely with no effort. Here’s a hint to make things easier when you use it...squeeze the handles and remove your saw which should be mounted to plywood by now and take it off before you try to turn it upside down and carry it. It only takes about 5 seconds to reattach. I give this item five stars.

Outstanding and versatile product. Very sturdy. It comes with one set of removable brackets that you affix to the underside of your portable tool. The brackets come with 5 carriage bolts (one short one and four long) to mount to various tools. It perfectly lined up with my Dewalt 12" chop saw. I bought two additional bracket sets, one for a router table and one set attached to a narrow work surface I built to go between the chop saw and one end. The stand goes from packed to operational in seconds. I can unfold the stand and flip into position and have the chop saw mounted in about one minute. My router table is mounted to a small wood platform and one bracket set is then bolted to the wood. My only caution is to not trip over the legs as they have a wide stance. The two extensions were a nice addition and provide a sturdy support for long lumber pieces. The stop guides swing up for use and down when not needed. I find that the stop guides are not easily adjustable for highly accurate cuts but adequate for CEFGW cuts (close enough for government use).

I'm using this stand with the DWS780 (12" double bevel sliding saw) which is a pretty large saw so I was a bit concerned about how it would balance on the stand. I set it up and did several test cuts with the saw in various positions to see how it felt. Turns out this stand provides a very solid platform for my saw. The extendable supports line up well and can be adjusted to compensate for the small amount of sagging when fully extended. The supports feel very sturdy and lock firmly into place but aren't level with the saw when extended. The stand folds up nicely for transport and storage. Overall I'm very happy with size and quality of this stand, I only regret not pulling the trigger on this sooner. Everything needed to mount a saw to this stand is in the box! What was included: The stand as pictured with extendable supports, Saw to stand mounting brackets, Mounting bolts, and Owner's Manual.

This stand is sturdy and well thought out. It is pretty much as you would expect it to be and works perfectly if you have a Dewalt saw (I suppose because I have a Makita saw at this time). There is a nice little "stop" on the saw mounting rail that insures that the saw is positioned in the same place every time it is mounted. This is significant in some circumstances. The problem I have is that when mounting a non Dewalt saw, the instructions state that you should mount the saw with a piece of plywood between the brackets and the saw base. This is necessary with my Makita saw because otherwise the saw does not catch the brackets in the right place to be adequately supported. The addition of the 1/2 inch plywood makes the work supports too short (even adjusted to the maximum height) to reach the height of the saw's work platform. I could put some spacers on top of the support brackets, but then the flip stop gizmo would not work properly. Instead of plywood I used aluminum angle to make supports perpendicular to the mounting brackets that support the saw well, do not raise the saw too much to use the support brackets, and does not interfere with the release mechanism of the brackets and allow saw dust to drop through. Works perfectly... See photos I say all of that to say that, although it is possible to mount any brand of saw to this stand, it may not go perfectly smoothly for you. I purchased this stand for its popularity and, therefore, the wide availability of accessories and parts. It saves a lot of room in my shop (over the dedicated miter set up I used to have) and the 70% of the time I am not using it, I can fold it up and put it away. The precision fence systems that are available for this stand gives me shop accuracy and job site portability in a small put-away-able package. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because a little more thoughtful bracket would have made it truly universal. I get it though (I'm supposed to get a Dewalt saw) so no hard feelings...

This is a high quality item. One of the very few left that's not junk from China. I needed new sawhorses and thought about a Black & Decker workmate. But reviews showed it is now made in China and is total junk. I went with a pair of these, mainly to get the extension arms. i don't really needed the miter saw mounts, but they seem solid if I use in the future. These are very solid and I believe they could handle the 500 lbs. rated. All the main structure is heavy metal. The only plastic are the knobs on the locks. Even the shipping box was heavy duty and closed with large staples. How long has it been since you've seen that? The end supports are somewhat adjustable up and down, front and back. But they're for support only, they won't clamp a piece by themselves. They are removable. The legs fold up and there is a solid carry handle (plastic but hefty) This helps with storage and transport. About my only complaint is they are a bit on the heavy side for me. A reflection of the build quality. Overall I'm very pleased. My friend saw them and immediately ordered a pair for himself.

So pleased with my new DEWALT miter saw stand! It's been so handy for my woodworking projects in the garage. Even with greasy hands from lunch, setting it up was a breeze. The compact design and 40" beam extension make it perfect for my small workspace. And the fact that it can hold up to 500 lbs gives me peace of mind when working with heavy materials.
