  • Not sure why I gave 5 stars for "thickness".
Style: Pistol-Grip Drill
The number of drill motors I've owned over the years... my goodness. Anyway, let's say I'm qualified to review a drill motor. 1. Drop this on the floor on purpose because you WILL drop your drill motor. Passed 2. Did they skimp on the length of the power cord like most tools today, NO. Passed 3. Quality. Passed Ease of use. It's a drill motor with a keyed chuck. How much easier can it get. Torque? Hang on for an E ride. This machine has very impressive torque. If your not careful, you'll find yourself on the floor with the DeWalt giggling at you. Anyway, yes. I can recommend this drill motor for DIYers. Not sure if it can hold up to commercial use but that's because this is not a commercial, just my opinion. ... show more

  • Very powerful, but not made in USA
Style: Pistol-Grip Drill
I have read other reviews that had issues with the speed control. Fortunately mine has good speed control from 0 RPM up. This makes me think that the other reviewers probably had factory defective triggers/mofsets. Triggers tend to be a weak point on most prosumer power tools. I took a star off because this size drill is imported. The smaller DeWalts are USA made and I wish it was that way across the board. ... show more

  • Dewalt DWD210G drill
Style: Pistol-Grip Drill
This is the worst quality built drill I’ve ever owned. The drill chuck does not hold the bit properly and the bit wobbles so violently it shakes your arms off and drills bad holes. Put the same bit in my Rigid battery drill and it spins perfectly straight and balanced. Bought this drill cause I needed a more powerful drill for a 1/2 inch auger bit through hard cherry wood. Rigid battery drill didn’t have the power even with my 9 mah battery. Paid extra for Dewalt brand thinking it was built better quality, not the case with this DWD210G drill. Not recommended. ... show more

  • Highly reccomend!
Style: Pistol-Grip Drill
After owning this drill for about a year now, I really don't have any complaints. I bought this to drill through the thick steel frame of my older travel trailer and I couldn't be more satisfied with how well it powered through it. I don't even bother using my cordless drill for anything bigger than a pilot hole anymore; I go straight to my tool cabinet and pull this bad-boy out for all of my other handheld drilling needs. Plenty of power and the side handle provides plenty of control. The keyed chuck works really well, holds all bits nice and tight. ... show more

  • Powerful drill
Style: Pistol-Grip Drill
This is a very nice and powerful 10A drill, but it's not a high torque drill (e.g., for large ship auger bits). I learned the difference and ended up buying a Metabo industrial drill specifically for that; it's a slower 8A drill but geared lower to keep a large bit moving in a deep hole. This Dewalt and a 1 inch spade bit will tear through any piece of lumber without even slowing down. ... show more

  • What I was looking for!
Style: Pistol-Grip Drill
Strong drill need a 10 amp to drill 1 inch holes on a tree trunk.my battery Milwaukee hammer drill burn out, but this drill went pretty well.Live tree trunk are very tough, got about 20 holes ,the drill got hot but didn’t burn down still running well.

  • Great drill, albeit a bit on the "weighty" side, worth the money.
Style: Pistol-Grip Drill
Replacement for a 20 year old (and finally dead) DeWalt. This replaces a 3/8 drive. This one is a half inch bit size and the detachable handle and 10 amps will assure you of it's ability to plow through anything. It IS however, not necessarily a one- handed drill. It is heavier than most and built with industrial durability in mind. That is my only negative comment about it and I should have given more thought to the WEIGHT of the drill. That's not DeWalt's fault. I love the power of the drill. The detachable handle makes it applicable to almost any job you need a drill for. I am pretty sure this will last the rest of my life. ... show more

  • Lot of power. light. durable. for the profi. no lo speed
Style: Pistol-Grip Drill
Con: The minimum speed on the drill is about 400 rpm, not zero. This was pointed out by another reviewer. He found out it is a design issue. So, This is a 400-1200 rpm VSR. So it is NOT good for steel, or finely finished drill holes. Pro: Pretty much all of the reviewers here are correct. This is a LOT of drill. Huge torque -- use both hands. Keeps going and going and will shut itself off if you overpush it. Very tough. very reliable. But it is surprisingly light, about 4.9 lbs. I drilled hundreds of 3/4" spade bit holes in studs for running 10 ga romex. The drill barely got warm (the spade bit got glowing hot and had to resharpen 3 times, LOLs). I have a big stucco project coming up, and I have a funny feeling this will make a perfect mud mixer. Edit 3.17: We have using this drill almost daily for mixing and massive multiple hole drilling for 4 months. We also like to use it for wire brushing or sanding. the overload circuit on this is a lifesaver. we run this drill for hours on end and until it shuts itself off for 10 mins. then presto, it starts right back up without a hitch. the price on the 210 has increased unfortunately, but it is worth it, bumping our review up to 5 stars. Edit 3.23: We are buying 5 more of the 210's. it turns out you can buy them used very cheaply, not necessarily on Amazon though (hint hint nudge nudge). ... show more
