Air compressor stopped working after only a handful of uses, following all instructions. I took it into the DeWalt service center to get it repaired under warranty. That was 3 weeks ago, and they're telling me it will be another 2 weeks. Why? BECAUSE THIS ISN'T ACTUALLY A DEWALT PRODUCT! DeWalt has licensed the name to another company, which apparently makes it near impossible to get replacement parts and do service under warranty. It also means that it's not of the same quality of typical DeWalt products. It's a cheap knockoff and DeWalt lets them use the name and doesn't provide any disclaimer or any information letting you know it is not actually produced by DeWalt. I would not recommend buying this product. UPDATE: After 3 more weeks at the service center, they informed me that since it was not a DeWalt product, they could not replace the part. They didn't have any in stock at any of their warehouses. Also, they could not replace it or even offer a comparable product to replace it. Instead, DeWalt offered to send me a refund via a check...that will take another 10 weeks to arrive! This is pretty terrible customer service for a really terrible product. DO. NOT. BUY. The space allowed to wrap the hose is limited and if the tube is hot you can't wrap the hose up. The tube is not placed correctly, allowing the possibility for a severe burn(trust me, I know!!). Wheel placement is another issue when attempting to move the unit. Not sufficient space to place foot to hold to lean unit back. The air compressor works great. After reading the owner’s manual and ensuring that all fittings were tight, it performed better than expected. The only reason why it’s getting 4 out of 5 stars is due to shipping delays and minor cosmetic defects. Since it is a bulky item, it did not arrive on the expected delivery date. And when i received it, the box was in such a poor condition, it started to fall apart as soon as I tried to move it. And upon unpacking the air compressor, I noticed a small crack on the plastic housing at the motor. Not sure how it got there and although it does not impact the performance of the air compressor, it still sucks to receive a brand new item with a crack in it. 5 stars because so far it works as it should. I blew out my sprinkler lines and ran a 3/4 in. rattle wrench on a tire rotation with no problems. It was damaged during shipment but I don't knock stars off for shipping companies mishandling product. The plastic engine cover was broken at the 4 points it was secured at the bottom of the motor. It was cracked in a horseshoe at the top of one side of the cover. Two of the metal flanges on the motor were broken completely off. I used JB Weld on the metal flanges and secured them. I used silicone for the broken plastic. None of this affected the performance of the unit just the looks but even that is hard to tell after I fixed it. My suggestion is to go to a big box store that sells this and buy it directly from them so you can inspect it and transport it yourself. No one cares about your stuff as much as you do. ... show more

I've had it for 4 months and it has performed well. I primarily use it as air for a Miller 625 plasma cutter. It is very loud. It's rated at 78dBA (Outdoor). Inside any garage, it rivals my angle grinder for volume. It takes about 5 minutes to refill on auto. I would buy it again.

--- Original Review---- Took forever to get here from CPO Outlets, If I had known it would take so long I would have ordered through the big box store and paid $15 more Otherwise the compressor seems fine, does what it says it does. Just got here today, so can't comment on durability. Tank looks very beefy though, the actual compressor motor looks a little dainty, but we'll see how it does. Noise level is reasonable. --------------1 year update below----------------- Still not unhappy with the compressor, however it is VERY temperamental about amperage, and ambient temperatures. I have been considering pulling the oilless compressor off of the tank and replacing with an oiled unit. It over heats easily in the summer here in the desert heat. When it says it wants a clean 20amps, its absolutely not kidding, so if you're thinking about trying to run on a 15A circuit, forget it. If you're planning to run on a 20A circuit that isn't perfect, forget it. The tank on this thing is great, but the compressor (or maybe the motor) is sub-par, it does the work but not exactly effortless. I wish I had a belt drive unit so I could change the pulleys and ease the load, this thing just runs too close to the edge. Only put 1 star because I had to. This product almost blew my power source for shop. Sparks flew... compressor wont maintain air, motor over heats constantly, prventing any continuous work. Do not recommend unless all you're going to do is fill tires, and even at that may need the motor to cool each time. Poor design. Says pulls 15 amps but keeps popping my 20 amp breaker.
