I have the little brother 3/8” MAC tools branded impact. Purchased the week it was released. When it was new it would remove most car lug nuts even tho a 3/8”. Over time it lost a hair amount of break away. The MAC branded 1/2” is more expensive and since I have 4 batteries and two chargers I only needed a wrench. Purchased this and finally got a car to work on that needed brakes. Lugs were torqued to 90 ft lbs and with not even using the impact anvil the lug nuts came off. One pull of the trigger and with no “ugga-dugga” just spun them off. I couldn’t be happier. On install one quick burst put the lugs on over 100ft lbs. (too high) so I had to crack loose to get them to 80ft lb. (2007 Prius) People complain about the weight but maybe they never had to use or forget the heavy OG Rodac air impacts back in the day. I say it’s not heavy but perhaps it’s balance makes it seem heavy. No matter. I love this tool. I’ve been wrenching since 1975 and the MAC/DeWalt Brushless XR 20v Lithium impacts and drill are by far my favorite tools I’ve ever used. I wish they had a compact cordless ratchet. The one now is a bit large, but I’ll wait.

Reviewers on here are complaining about their impact wrench being used. If you ordered the DEWALT DCF899HB-20V MAX XR Brushless Impact Wrench and if you read the small print it clearly states that it is a reconditioned DCF899B. Also, if you look at it price it is more expensive than the DCF899B. This wrench is incredible and has the Dewalt name behind it. This impact wrench has plenty of power and it will do more than remove lug nuts. I purchase this as I on occasion change out the suspensions on my four-wheel drives. I do have air available but I like the idea of not having to drag the air hoses around. This Dewalt impact wrench is heavy but that should be expected of a wrench with this amount of breakaway torque. Plus I can take this with me off roading along with my tool kits. I would buy this Dewalt DCF899B again and would recommend it to anyone who has a need for break away power in an impact wrench.

I have been a mechanic for 40 years, i am used to air powered Impacts, I read all the reviews, and seen a lot of inexperienced users, that really dont know how to use a tool, this Impact has a ton of power, I m sure you can argue about the Milwaukee gun but for the price point this Impact gun will remove any thing i put it on, Im going to use this until it wont go anymore, i can be mobile with it, and take it to a friends house for tire work or to a salvage yard to get some parts, IT IS HEAVY..that is to be expected its super strong the motor has to be large, but its not bad............ one of my best tools, and i have thousands of dollars invested since 1982-ABOUT THE BATTERIES, the battery AMP hours is not how strong the tool will be---its how long it will run using it all day, if you are an occasional user the 2 will be fine it wont last all day, but you dont get anymore power out of a 5 amp battery that is not how it works, the 4 amp will run this thing all day using it to remove lug nuts, if you are going to use it on one or 2 vehicles in a day my 2 amp hour does just fine, you need one of these impacts

This impact is awesome. Plenty of power for rotating tires and the like. If you don't have the space for an air compressor and all it requires to run your impact, this may be just the tool for you. I got this so i could start rotating my own tires, and it was well worth it. It zipped the lug nuts off of my scion (4 per wheel) and put them back on good and tight without even dropping a bar on the charge meter. I checked them all with a torque wrench afterward, and they were all well past 90 ft lbs. I didn't hold the impact on, either. I thought i just barely snugged them up because i like to torque my wheels with a torque wrench. I have 2 other vehicles. One with 5 lugs, one with 6. I suspect I could rotate the tires on all 3 vehicles with one charge on the 2 batteries I got, though I haven't tried that yet. They rarely ever come due at the same time. The friend that recommended this to me did his tires on his truck with 8 lugs per wheel, and said it only dropped his charge by 1 bar, and made easy work of it. I recommend getting 2 batteries though. While it looks like one will go a long way, you never know what can come up.

This Impact Wrench is amazing! I work on my cars at home and there are times where I can't reach Wheels that need to be taken off and on with my Pneumatic Impact being that its too far away from my air compressor. I just recently changed over to my winter wheels and couldn't get to my Pole Barn ( car would get stuck) due to heavy snow. Did the job on my car. Also have a pickup and did my brakes and it took the lugs off and put them on without a sweat. Pros: Powerful No Air Hose to trip over With my 60v battery I did all 2 vehicles on one charge. Cons: Big Switch for reverse/forward was too easy to press sometimes when putting my wheels back on. Conclusion: This will replace my Pneumatic Impact going forward. No more waiting for air to build up, Oiling, and hoses all over the floor. Now planning on to use it for a small deck this spring to put some long Lug Bolts into treated wood.

Been using this for about 2 months now. It's heavy! But it is for the big tough work. It has plenty of torque to take off any nut/bolt. Just replaced struts with 125k miles of crud and rust, bottom suspension bolts off with minimum effort! I highly prefer the detent anvil, it holds the sockets firm, and they are not that hard to pull off after use. I have the lighter Dewalt 3/8" impact driver for the basic work. Great combo and I still use the same batteries.
