Impact driver cooling fan smells like rotten garbage. Not a burning smell. No clue why, but had to mention it. Wife runs when I use it. I've had this kit for about eight months and use it weekly. It's a basic drill and impact that works very well and good enough for most DIY projects. I will say, you might want to buy bigger batteries for large projects. Amazon has some third-party compatibles that work great and wont break the bank. Have used the impact for several automotive projects and it works great. The drill, well, drills well.
