i love this tool . great power and works as it should . the following information i will leave up and admit to my mistakes . the faults that i describe is from the old battery . i used it while the new one was charging . the new battery that came with gun is flawless . the old one must have dirty or loose contacts or internal connection loss. REPEAT . I LOVE THIS GUN AND IT WORKS AS DESCRIBED WITHOUT DISSAPOINTMENT my old dewalt '899' was great for long time . then the 123 switch malfunctioned and was very intermittant of getting the level of power i wanted . but that didnt stop me from wanting to just upgrade to the new 900. to my dissapointment . the first run up option didnt work as described . and the available power to remove bolts . even everyday lugnuts . is defective . it hamers 1 time then shuts off . making it useless . have to repeatedly hit triger for one hit at a time . once is loose it removes fine . i want to love it . my older one was better and the old twin at home is still going strong . maby it is a unicorn defect . ... show more

I bought this impact for weekend warrior work on my cars. So far I've changed 2 sets of rotors and done some oil changes with it, and I've only had to charge the battery once (over two months in cold weather!). No issues breaking away tough rusted bolts and fastening is a dream. My only complaint is that it is too large to reach in some tight spots, but I knew that when I bought it. ... show more

I have been using an old corded Craftsman impact wrench for a while. It was starting to show its age, and was struggling to get wheel nuts off. I bought the Dewalt based on others recommendations, and couldn’t be more happy. The unit is heavy, but well balanced weight wise. It has plenty of torque to spin lug nuts off. The anvil is easy to use, and holds sockets well, although sometimes it’s trial and error to put the socket on. The battery holds a charge well and didn’t show any signs of use after spinning 20 lug nuts off and on. The charger works well, you just have to make sure the battery is seated. Contrary to other reviews, if the battery is not seated in the charger well, of course it will never charge. Look for the light to know it seated and charging. You pay a premium for Dewalt tools, but the quality is hard to beat, especially when considering the battery works with so many other Dewalt tools. ... show more

everyone at the automotive shop I work at uses Milwaukee or SnapOn impacts, however I was already vested in 20V Max and decided to try this out. The Dewalt just feels very premium, the impacts are tight and consistent. I also no longer need an air impact as this thing is more powerful than any SnapOn. The BEST thing about it though is Mode 1, which "limits" you to 100ftlb of torque. this is fantastic for lug nuts, I hit a lug with 4-5 impacts and have found it usually ends up between 90-110ftlb which prevents overtorquing. its like having a built in torque stick. ... show more

I love when you get a tool that you wonder how you ever lived without it. We needed this to break some rusted castle nuts lose from the boat trailer and then I discovered I needed it for about everything else. It's super powerful which I have to remember anytime I go to grab it. It has 4 settings, bolt and then 3 different RPMs which I believe help to not break or strip nuts. It is NOT however light in any way shape or form. I didn't expect it to be though. I ordered a case of various impact sockets and between this tool and those, I feel that I can conquer the nutty fastener world! ... show more

this thing could probably give Chuck Norris a run for his money.... Ha decent price and yes its on the heavy side but I dont care it works!!! have my Ingersoll Rand for light work (hate pulling out the air hose lol but this goes in my vehicles Star wrench stays home.. dont contimplate/procrasinate..
