A more compact head version of 20v battery powered drill. These drills have a wonderful clutch drive that allows you to adjust the amount of toque needed to screw in a screw with damaging the screw head or breaking the screw (which I have done with their impact drivers).     • Great upgrade to Dewalt's best brushless compact drill
I have several of the older model, and one of them finally gave up the ghost after heavy use for six years. This drill seems to be about as powerful but smaller in most dimensions, and most importantly, a little shorter from drill bit tip to the back of the drill, so it will fit in tighter spaces. I've noticed that the clutch setting needs to be higher, for example up from 7 to 11, to get the same joint tightness (using GRK-type fasteners in oak) as before. So maybe the torque is lower, or the clutch is looser. (If they redesigned the clutch I wouldn't be surprised, that's what blew on my older drill.) ... show more

So far so good. This arrived in an Amazon shipping bag with the belt hook in a bag taped to the handle. I installed the hook, attached a battery, and it worked as intended. I’ll update this review if it fails.

    • Defective. Counter-Clockwise attempts turn Clockwise Half the time!
This drill was defective from the start. Bit spins clockwise AND THEN counter-clockwise half the times you pull the trigger trying to unscrew something counter-clockwise. I have to start it very slowly because it can strip wood or break off the head of screws if I trust it just because I know the direction is set correctly. Buy a drill somewhere you can return it locally IMO. ... show more
