I use this for mechanic restoration jobs and it works great!! Only problem is IT DOES NOT come with the rubber grip SHOWN AND DESCRIBED in the description. Would recommend the grinder 100% but would also recommend getting the rubber grip instead of the plastic one that is sold with this grinder.

This this is incredibly powerful for how light it is. It looks like it weighs 10 pounds but its very light for what it is. Its got no problem cutting thick material and just muscles through without ever bogging down. Vibrates less than my 4.5 or 6 inch under heavy load. Much needed tool but when it arrived there was nothing in the box! Opened it in front of postal worker because it felt lite. Within the Dewalt box was Angle grinder instructions, the handle, and the guard, but main tool was missing and never recovered.

I had to upgrade to 7 inch ginder over a 5 inch as the 5 inch was just too light duty. Attachments are significanting more expense than 5 inch. I needed something to level a basement concrete floor prior to a wood flooring installation. As the area to be leveled was about 300 square feet, the 7 inch grinder was able to do the job. It worked for what I needed but creates a huge amount of dust, even with a shroud and vacuum. The manual indicates that it should not be used for wet work which is too bad as the dust from concrete contains silica and wet work is the best way to control the generation of dust. So if using for grinding a concrete floor, the area needs to be well ventilated and the operator needs a respirator. ... show more

Used this to remove 2,100 SF of float, thin-set, mastic and assorted construction grime from the slab after hurricane. Worked like a champ. Had to be careful not to bog down the motor when taking off thin-set as it would trip the 20A breaker. When coupled with the dewalt dust shield, double row dewalt grinding disk and dual filter dewalt dust collector, it is the next best thing to a legitimate floor grinding set-up - for just $900 instead of $5k+ ... show more

    • Almost too much for exterior paint removal. Rips that paint off!
This is a well made heavy duty piece of hand equipment here. Needed an upgrade from my cast aluminum body 1970s made Milwaukee, and this was perfect. Grinding paint off my house... Boy does this remove material! A bit heavy, but the higher RPMs makes a world of difference. I have to be very careful not to leave big gouges...
