The only thing I’d do differently is buy the kit with the battery and charger. I already owned DEWALT batteries, so the bare tool made sense for me, but the combo kit is probably the better value if you’re just getting started. I’ve been deep in the DEWALT 20V ecosystem for a while now, and grabbing this Cordless Wet/Dry Vac for $80 felt like a steal. After using it to detail the interior of my car this week, I can confidently say it’s one of the most practical additions to my tool collection. It fits everywhere I need it to and has more power than more plug-in shop vacs. There’s a reason the trades use these! Performance & Portability: The biggest win here is the cordless freedom. Dragging a bulky, corded shop vac out to the driveway is a hassle, but this unit is light enough to carry around with one hand while I’m reaching under the seats. Despite being battery-powered, the suction is impressive—it handled everything from loose gravel in the floor mats to fine dust in the cupholders without a struggle. The "Ecosystem" Advantage: Since I already have a stack of 20V MAX batteries, buying the "tool-only" version was a no-brainer. It slots right in, and a standard 5.0Ah battery gave me more than enough runtime to finish my entire car interior with power to spare. Not the strongest shop vac in the world, but for how light it is, and how easy it is to not have to drag extension cords around... easy to use and always there when you need it. With the filters hard plastic design it makes it super easy to clean and I haven't had to replace it yet. Works well for smaller messes, like drywall dust and cleaning out ypur car. The attachments are pretty good, but I typically just use the normal hose. The only thing I wish it did was click on to the dewalt toughsystems 2.0 as that would make it the perfect shop vac ... show more

My husband had a full-sized shop vac years ago which has long died. I was perusing a replacement when I came across this portable, lightweight, cordless option. I was confused by the ad on the listing because I didn't understand what was meant by "tool only". In essence, "tool only" means it doesn't come with a battery. Subsequently, I ordered a battery set after receiving it. This thing is amazing and far more usable than the standard shop vac ever was. Because it's cordless, it goes practically everywhere. The suction is powerful, its so easy to use and fits in smaller spaces. We're constantly finding new uses for it because it outperforms every other device we have. This little shop vacuum is fantastic. I use it for all kinds of cleanup around the house, and it has plenty of suction for such a compact, portable unit. The two-gallon size makes it easy to carry from room to room, and it’s especially convenient for quick messes when I don’t want to drag out a full-size vacuum. It is definitely worth the money. This cordless shop vac is one of the best things I have purchased in a long time. It is compact, easy to carry and super easy to use. Used it for the first time on the interior of my car, which hadn't seen a vacuum in a long time. It did a great job of getting all the debris up and it was great not being tethered to a cord.
