  • Nice heat gun
Style: Heat Gun
Best feature is portability. Works as I expected.

  • Very handy addition to 20V XR tool set
Style: Heat Gun
I was looking for a simple heat gun to use for simple heat shrink use. I already own a collection of 20V XR DeWalt batteries so this heat gun was a no brainer addition. Compared to my corded heat gun, this tool does not deliver the high heat (it is battery operated after all) output but it works just fine for its intended purpose. This tool is very effective for heat shrink purposes. I have also tried it with solder wire joint splice and there is sufficient heat to melt the solder and heat shrink the sleeve around it. This tool also makes it very easy to use a heat gun anywhere outside, or any remote location where access to AC power is problematic. You do need to keep in mind that since this is battery powered, your run time will be limited. ... show more

  • Very light, gets VERY hot
Style: Heat Gun
Will kill a fully charged 9AH battery at high in 30 minutes of constant use. That’s with it being in the locked ON position. I deal with a lot of icy valves. Melts ice pretty easily if you don’t have a torch handy.

  • Great, but goes through batteries.
Style: Heat Gun
It should not be a surprise that it eats batteries like candy. 4ahr battery lasted....didn't time it, but maybe 10 to 15min of run time, on high. I needed a cordless heat gun to do use those watertight soldering splices while up on a ladder, 5 splices pretty much used up the battery on high. Worked great for that on high. Heats really fast, but you will need more than one battery. Also, the safety switch is annoying. Not sure the reason. Small lever on the switch has to be moved up, then depress the switch....makes it hard to switch between hands and keep it going. Reason for the docked star. ... show more

  • Great little heatgun, emphasis on little
Style: Heat Gun
Look, this will never set the world on fire. It's not a flame tbrower. It is a great tool for heat shrink and other small jobs. And it has no cord. The nozzles are the typical junk that comes with every heatgun. I'm very happy with it. It does exactly what I want.

  • Works Great!
Style: Heat Gun
We use this to unthaw our watering bowls that have froze up in the winter for our cattle.

  • not quite what I expected from DeWalt
Style: Heat Gun
Has High and low setting. Gets plenty hot, but the air output from the fan is lacking. I actually expected it to blow much harder, and maybe not be as hot because it is cordless, but I was wrong. i bought this for removing graphics where I don't have access to a outlet. a 5AH battery will get the job done but you have to be much closer to the surface youre working on than you would with a traditional corded heat gun. would be 5 stars if it had a better fan & air output. ... show more

  • Things are heating up
Style: Heat Gun
A corded heat gun this is not. It doesn’t seem to achieve the higher temps of a corded gun but for a cordless gun it’s fantastic. It goes through batteries as faster than most tools (it converts electricity directly to heat) but a big battery will still do most any job you need it to do. Cutting the cord on a heat gun was a huge boon for me. ... show more
