My husband drives truck and has a stepdeck trailer. We have used this to cut down chains, cut off rusted locks, cut old straps up for padding etc. Not sure how we lived without this tool!

I am a welding student and I absoloutly love this grinder, I bought this back in February and wanted to wait to write an honest review. I got it with the 5 amp hour battery and this thing kicks @$$. It's super quite, I can use it anywhere in the shop to clean up metal, it cleans up welds and removes slag perfectly in less than 5 seconds with a braided wire wheel, i havent touched a wooden wire brush in ages. This thing will last 2 1/2 hours for miscellaneous grinding in the class room. If I have to really really work at a weld (i.e grinding out 7018 to put a groove in for the length of the weld for a cap pass) I'll go plug in a corded grinder so I don't have to worry about draining my battery, if all I need to do is take out some extra weld metal because i went a little slow, this thing takes it out like butter, pipe root gap to tight? Throw a sanding wheel on it and get that perfect 1/8th" root gap without having to walk it across the shop to a vice/outlet/grinder (and you know you'll be waiting for it). It grinds root faces on plates and pipe like any corded grinder would. I have 2 battery's for it and very rarely do I have to bring out the second one. I had 4 other students using one battery for the majority of the night. I carry this in a pouch around my back with 3 other wheels, if I need anything cleaned up a bit this thing is there and ready to go. ... show more
