The 12-inch Single-Bevel Compound Miter Saw is powered by a 15 Amp motor to drive 4,000 rpm, delivering extended power and durability. It features a stainless-steel miter detent plate and cam miter lock that provide repeatable accuracy and durability with easy adjustments.     • This is a good saw
Nice saw, cuts great. Used it to cut trim for my entire house. The dust bag fills up fast, I hooked up the saw and a shop Vac to the same switch and just connected the hose to where the bag was and works out great. I have had it for less than a year so not sure about durability yet, but I don't see it failing anytime soon. If you looking for a saw this size I recommend buy this one. ... show more

I replaced my older chop saw with this one and can't be happier! Amazing saw with great build quality. Cuts through the materials like a butter with hot knife. Absolutely recommend to anyone who is still considering buying it. Only thing is, there was piece of plastic trapped inside the drum, so when I did the cut. Blade hitted it hard, pieces flue all over... was loud and scary for a second because I didn't see this coming. So I opened the drum to check what happened and saw this plastic which supposed to be installed on blade guard. The thing is, there was installed one... you can see on the pictures I provided. Looks like when the saw was assembled, this plastic part felt down inside the drum but they just put another one. I don't see any reason for me to take any star's down from the rating because it's a great saw. Luckily I was wearing safety glasses and gloves.... ALWAYS use safety gears, because we don't know what's coming in a next move we do. So far I see the damage only was done to the yellow insert plastic, it ripped it out from the two screws and now it's loose. If you look carefully, on the picture we can see the gap gets thiner by the and of it. Gonna need to replace it. ... show more

I’ve been using this saw for a few months on various home projects and it’s been incredibly reliable and precise. The cuts are clean and smooth, and the motor has plenty of power to handle tougher materials. Setup was straightforward and the single bevel feature is easy to adjust.     • Great saw for the price point. But had some issues.. like a lot of other folks.
PROS: Powerful, easy to adjust bevels and accurate miter stops, good value. It's usually sub $250 so while I understand there are *a lot* of 10" options which are sliding compound miter saws so they narrow the 'gap' considerably with capacity vs. this saw for roughly the same, price. Personal preference. DeWalt has a solid reputation when it comes miter/table saws. They just do. CONS: Had to return my first unit <1 year in. The same issues as mentioned here, after a while the motor ("start up") took several seconds to get to higher RPM and longer to shut off. This **isn't** normal and should have you servicing (hopefully under warranty) this tool, *immediately*. Even if your saw is still making cuts, I wouldn't continue to use it. This shouldn't happen on a saw this age but it *does* happen (12yr old Bosch... same issue). Replacement through DeWalt was very easy and I had my replacement saw in about a week. Whether it was a factory refurbished unit, I couldn't easily tell. DeWalt provided me with a prepaid shipping label as well when I indicated I lived in a pretty rural area. Over the past two weeks I have sawed thru hard wood, soft wood, 3" pvc pipe and a whole list of new construction materials with absolute precision and the understanding that this Dewalt 15 Amp miter saw is the best, "chop saw", I've ever used. This thing is a beast on a job site, a heavy and strong built tool from one of the greatest out here. Every type of cut you would need to achieve while framing, every safety feature a professional probably doesn't need but still values and all of the power in this saw for a price that can't be beaten. The build quality is excellent and every small detail, (the texturing on the back plate, sliding plates, highly visible numbers, cut outs on the side for carrying, table ready feet with holes to bolt down) make it clear that this is a tool made for people who value their work by people who understand what work is. Out in the field I work with some of the greatest, most hard working human beings alive and this is a tool worthy of that title and their time! Hands down, best saw I've ever owned. ... show more
