  • I think it may be a good alternative to relaxers.
I just used this stuff for the first time today so I'll update review accordingly. FIrstly, If you have long, thick, tight curl pattern, it may be wise to buy 2 bottles. I've been on and off with being natural and I used to buy to relaxers when getting my full head relaxed so it should have dawned on me to buy 2 to cover my full head. I got through my entire head, but not sure if I used enough product. My hair was still curly, but curls did seem looser so I'll try again after it starts to wear off. It says that to blow dry after final wash and then use the finishing oil. A blow dry definitely was not enough, I needed to use the flat iron, but again, maybe my curls would have loosened up more with more product so I won't hold that against it. The smell--- I thought others were exaggerating and felt that way up until it was time to flat iron. The smell I could handle, but it absolutely burned my nose to smell it, and it also burned my eyes as the smoke from my hair mixed with the product. That was beyond frustrating to deal with. The burning did quickly stop once the smoke died down but was not prepared for that at all. Results were pretty good. I was nervous because my hair was still pretty curly so I was not sure how well it would do in the straightening process, but it straightened really good. Flat ironing was a lot less unpleasant than usual, and my hair did not start frizzing up as it always does immediately after a flatiron. I don't know if it will last 20 washes, and if it doesn't I'd still try again with the ability to coat my hair better because right now I won't know if that is the real reason if it ends up not lasting as long as stated. I think the product is worth the try for those who want to stay natural but want the versatility of a good straightened style without sacrificing curls. I plan on never going back to relaxers and sticking to my natural texture so I'm hoping this can help me achieve straight hair when I desire it. I'll update my review on how long it lasts and also if having 2 bottles makes any difference on the straightening process. Edit: I just noticed today that the product, much like a relaxer, did leave a chemical burn in my hair. I didn't notice it until I felt that part of my scalp with my hand. So because my scalp did react this way, I am holding off on doing it on my daughter's head to give it a few more tries. Want to make sure that no damage is done to my actual hair, or my follicles are burnt to a point that they get permanent damage. I am still okay with using it again as my hair seems fine and I didn't experience much discomfort with it in my head, but I'll be more mindful of trying to not get it on my scalp and washing it out on time. ... show more

  • It worked!!
I have really curly hair and lots of it . It takes me too long to blow dry and flat iron my hair . I did this on my hair tonight . I was a little nervous because I have highlights in my hair and you put this on your roots for 20 min . I was worried my hair would fall out or fry. This takes wayyyy more than an hour ! Try almost 3 hrs ! During the drying process my hair was so wet and sticky then during the flat ironing step it was hard and so stuck together . My hair felt so dry I was thinking how is this going to get better . I rinsed it all off and used a deep conditioner. My hair is sooo soft and not fried . I’m very happy with the results. My tight curls are now waves . I’m excited to have manageable hair now !!! Cons : takes hours of work. My arms hurt . It smells but not as bad as relaxer . Some smoke got in my eye and it stings . The smell is faint now but I can still smell it lingering. The process gets stressful because your hair gets really tangly and dry . Pros: more manageable hair . Less frizz . Less time to straighten/style. Overall I highly recommend. ... show more

  • WORKS!
Firstly, let me say that I am African American with 14 weeks post relaxed hair. The process is long, but definitely worth it, however, I didn't do it correctly. After I blow dried the stuff on my hair and started to flat iron, I actually got nervous at this part. I didn't want to burn my hair off so I only did a few parts of my hair and rinsed it out immediately after that. Even with me doing a few pieces, it still made my hair very soft and bouncy. I washed my hair a few days after this and my hair is still very manageable. My new growth is growing in kinky like normal, but after washing my hair, it is easier to comb out. Also, I didn't shed much hair like I usually do. Now there is a bad scent and my hair was dyed a bit. However, the scent DOES go away after about 2 washes. My hair color also reverted back after washing it again. ... show more

  • Works great!
I was skeptical at first and didn't think it would work. It was an easy application and process. This product works. Never thought I could get straight hair like this without going to a salon.

  • So if you have about 3 hours, it's worth a try
The media could not be loaded. My hair is natural and I vassilate between a 'fro and spending hours flat ironing my hair. I wanted to find a product that would meet me half way. You see the before and the after. Big difference!!! If you have coarse black hair like me, it's gonna take your a bit to work the product in, maybe 20 -30 minutes. Then you have to let it sit for another 20 minutes. For the first blow drying part, that's gonna take you another 20 -30 minutes, depending on how long/thick your hair is. And then you have to wait another 15. Once you do the final blow dry, thought it's easy street. Flat ironing my hair didn't take long at all. Word of caution. If you color your hair, especially at home like I do, this product will pull that color right on out. Notice the difference in color from video to after shot. I haven't seen my natural hair color in years 😆 Let's see if this last the 20 shampoos 🫣 ... show more
