This Detroit Axle brake kit for my 07-17 Jeep Wrangler was exactly what I needed to boost stopping power and safety. The drilled disc rotors look sharp and help keep brakes cooler during tough drives, which gives me confidence on and off the road. ❄️🔥 Installation was straightforward, and the kit includes everything for front and rear—11.89" front rotors and 12.44" rear rotors—fitting perfectly without any hassle. The brake pads have excellent grip and feel solid from the first press of the pedal. Rotors are great and good quality. Rear pads did not squeak. The front pads squeaked/squealed even with new shims and disc brake quiet on all contact points. It was determined the issue is with quality control and specs of the backing plates of the pads. The tab of the backing plate that rests and comes in contact with the shims in the mounting bracket are too wide by a couple thousandths. This causes one side of the pad to grip harder and make contact with the rotor. This minor imperfection is the root of the infamous squeal. If you lightly sand or file the end that is too tight the squeak disappears. Hope this helps others. Great price though for this kit. The squeal at a certain brake pressure is very annoying and dissatisfying. ... show more

    • ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE, TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE - DO NOT BUY!

This entire experience with the Detroit Axle brake kit was an unmitigated disaster from start to finish. I ordered this kit ( Detroit Axle - Brake Kit for 2011-2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 2011-2020 Dodge Durango Replacement Front & Rear Drilled & Slotted Disc Brake Rotors Ceramic Brakes Pads, which explicitly stated it would fit my 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and it was anything but. The problems started the moment the package arrived. The box looked like it had been through a war zone—it was clearly damaged and had been haphazardly opened and retaped, which immediately set off alarm bells about the quality control and the handling of the parts. Despite the initial concern, I proceeded with the installation, only to hit the real nightmare. With my Jeep up on the jacks, tires off, and the old brakes already removed, I went to install the new rotors and found out the advertised 12.99" The rotors were TOO BIG for my vehicle! The one thing this kit was supposed to guarantee—the correct fit—was completely false. My vehicle was immobilized, sitting uselessly in the garage, all because of this incorrect product. I had to scramble to stop the job, re-box all the huge, heavy, wrong parts, and try to sort out this mess. This meant multiple trips to the store for me when I should have been done and driving. But the incompetence didn't end there. When I finally went through the rest of the boxes, I discovered they had only included the REAR brake pads. There were absolutely NO FRONT BRAKE PADS included in this supposed "full front & rear kit." This necessitated yet another unplanned trip out to an auto parts store just to complete the simple task of getting four pads. All in all, this was an incredibly frustrating, time-wasting, and costly ordeal. This product is incorrectly advertised, the packaging is suspicious, the quality control is non-existent (wrong size rotors), and the kit was incomplete (missing front pads). My horrible, horrible experience has taught me one thing: AVOID Detroit Axle at all costs if you value your time and sanity. Zero stars if I could give it. ... show more
