Hello all, my application was a 2009 ford Focus. These drums and shoes are very high quality with a perfect fit. My feeling is they will give a good service life. I also bought a hardware kit which I recommend. I am a basic level shade tree mechanic. I watched several youtube videos on the replacement procedure. All went well and the drums and shoes were replaced. My Focus had sat for a while as it is a secondary vehicle. Turning the key to start it provided no joy, the battery was dead. Knowing that I had replaced the battery about a year ago, I determined that it was still under warranty. To my surprise a new battery was provided at no cost. With a new battery installed the Focus roared to life, well maybe purred to life. Now for a test drive. All went well for about 50 feet. I had a traction control light, a ABS light and a brake light screaming at me on the dash. I was thinking the worst - that rodents had potentially compromised the wiring during the vehicle's down time. A quick query online provided what the problem could be. The ABS system was basically blind because I had not transferred the reluctor rings from the old drums to the new ones. Upon taking it all apart again and transferring the reluctor rings, all is perfect. Very good drums and shoes, bad mechanic.

Have about 6 months and 10k miles so far. Stop better then stock and make no noise. Towed a truck 13 hours with no trailer brakes through the mountains and it still doesn't even look like its used any of the pad and still stops great. For the price id buy they again over the Autopart's store junk that's double the price.

Absolutely the worst parts company I've ever dealt with. A simple brake job has now kept my truck in the shop for over a month. I was sent wrong parts, then wasnt sent half of the order, and some of the parts (calipers) didnt even work, broken out of the box. The customer service department was argumentative and unsympathetic. I will NEVER buy from Detroit axle again.

Good value, seems to be decent quality and fit my 2022 Subaru Ascent perfectly. With that being said there is a few shortcuts that were made. One being that they do not indicate which side or direction the slotted rotors go on. Usually those come with a R or L stamped for clear installation. Another would be the finishing of the rotors, I used the Detroit pads and feel that the pads need to settle into the rotors. The more use the quieter they become. They are pretty loud but the OEM brakes were not very good in these cars to begin with in my opinion. The third is that the front pads did not come with new retailer clips, so be very careful taking off the stock ones because you will need to reuse them. I do recommend these products if you are an advanced DIY’er and know how to properly clean, lube and assemble per spec and also do a proper break in. Also DO NOT attempt a brake job on this particular vehicle without a scanner that can set the electronic brakes into service mode.
