I was excited to find New Balance 608 for women, because they have been discontinued in the stores. ( they still make them for men but not women ) I have worn nothing but this style of NB for about 25 years. Every year I go buy a pair, don't even have to try them on. I purchased a 10. Same size I have worn for over 20 years. These were too long by about an inch and a half. And they were that much longer than all of the other pairs that I have purchased and worn. The media could not be loaded. I like that they do not have mesh which allows rain to seep through. I like that even though I had to purchase a size 9 instead of my regular size 8.5, they fit perfectly as I learned by prior mistakes that I now need a Wide D. Some if the comments that say the shoes are very hard inside and feel like you are standing on concrete with a thin inner cushion are correct but I purchased a parir of $25 inner soles, inserted them and they felt very comfortable then. I just received them today and will update as I walk around my Berber carpet until Monday. If they become painful, I will be returning immediately; if not, I will wear them out to my car and see how the rest of the day goes as I drive around wearing them. UPDATE: I had to return them. They really DO feel like I am walking on concrete as others have left on their reviews. I have a corn on the bottom of the ball of my right foot and even with the expensive inner soles I purchased and inserted, both my feet hurt. These shoes may work on someone without foot issues but they did not for me. I had to return them while they were still in good condition and only worn in the house and once when I got into my car and walked around the mall. They are hard killers. I purchased a pair of New Balance with the option of trying on first and returned the larger side but purchased the smaller. ... show more

Real leather workout shoes are getting hard to find! I have worn New Balance leather sneakers for three decades. The removable soles and strong counters handle orthotic insoles beautifully. I have walked miles on vacation in these shoes. I recommend New Balance model numbers starting in the 600s and going up to the 929s. Those numbering about 1000 that I have seen do not appear to be leather. ... show more

Have worn 608’s for years. Have been getting them from a shoe warehouse and the sole keeps separating from uppers. Hopefully these will hold up better.

Seems to run a little small, but good width for my wide foot. Good support and seems sturdy and constructed to last (worn only 1/2 dozen times so far). Durable for outdoor surfaces for tennis and Pickleball.
