First off, let me just start out by saying that this thing is really, really well made, and the price is probably fair considering that. The only reason I am pointing out the price is that you can find plenty of well-made ones similar to this for less, even much less in some cases, and if you don't really need all of the ports found on this one or this level of build quality, you could probably find great ones for half this price if you looked around. That being said, I picked this one up to install into a computer desk that I built that already has a few other similar black anodized aluminum flush-mount items installed into it, so I wanted to match the color and build quality of those up with a surface mounted power outlet and some charging outlets to go with the other ports and hardware already installed. And this one larger unit had all of the other types of plugs/ports I was going to install using multiple units, in one convenient all-in-one outlet! I had two ports installed already on the left side of the desk starting at the top corner of the surface, and I had originally planned to just make a string of them down that side of the desk, with 4 or 5 in total to fit all my needs. But after seeing this one and realizing that it could make things easier and also help to declutter things in the end, I decided to order it and see if it was going to match up with the rest of the black anodized metal parts and to see if it was made as well as the pricey ones for the HDMI and magnetic charging that I had already installed were. It is. Maybe even better, too. You can feel it even in the weight of it really, as nothing on this thing feels cheap or flimsy at all. All of the cables feel snug in the ports when you plug them in, and all of the power for charging or plugging things in works well with no connection issues and operating at the ranges they are supposed to. It was also super easy to install, albeit using a much larger hole. In the end, I decided to not go down the left side like I had planned since I didn't need to add additional ports as this one had everything I needed in it, so I made a jig to widen the existing hole in the corner from 1.25" to 3" to install this in that spot and then moved the HDMI port to the right of that one so that the large one is in the corner with the smaller ones set up so that the HDMI port is at the top to the right of it and the one for the magnetic charging base for my headphones and keyboard are below it in a nice little triangle configuration. Now everything just looks better and it makes cable management even easier since all of the cords easily go into the cable management tray that is mounted under the top at the back where the cords for the monitors and speakers are. I love it, and it is perfect for anyone who might be doing a project like mine, even if it is a bit more expensive than it could be.

This USB & 3 prong charger is a great addition to my desk. It's nicely designed & fit perfectly in one of existing cord holes in my stand up desk. It has a nice, long cord for plugging it into my wall outlet. Well done. Great to have an additional desktop outlet, traditional, USB A & C.

I feel the product description doesn't really do an adequate job of explaining that you will only get up to 65W total with all of the USB ports. It does say 65W is available when connected to "USB-C only" but this could be interpreted to mean you won't get 65W from the USB-A ports, which is also true. What they actually mean is max power is only available when a single device is charging. This means if you have one USB-C PD compatible device plugged in, it will get 65W. If you have more than one device plugged in, each will get a fraction. The manual includes a chart that breaks down the different available combinations but as of the time I'm writing this, it's not in the product photos. The product description only lists the PD modes that are supported. Kind of important information is left out. Also, there's nothing on the grommet itself to indicate power is shared. The grommet is just shy of 3" so if you have an existing 3" grommet or a 3" hole saw it should be a good fit. 6' cord with straight 3-prong plug. All of the outlets on mine work and there are no annoying LEDs. The retention ring is nice and beefy. The package includes 4 small set screws for 3 holes in the retainer ring to keep it from coming loose. Unfortunately mine arrive scratched and scuffed, including one scratch deep enough to feel with a fingernail. Not sure what happened but all of the exterior packaging was intact. There were plastic bags over the plastic surfaces to protect them and everything was in a sturdy box. So I'm guessing it must have happened during assembly or testing and someone looked at it and thought "Yes, this is fine to ship to a customer".

This was a breeze to install. My desk already had one of those round holes for the cables. I simply just had to rerun the cables and install this grommet. Everything was done within 30 minutes. Now I have all the power that I need and it looks stylish too.

In my latest effort to streamline and modernize my workspace, I installed a Desktop Power Grommet. This is an added a layer of convenience to my desk, though it came with a few installation notes worth mentioning. The installation process is simple but does require a 3-inch hole saw. This is an essential point to consider for those who might not have this tool readily available. The build of the power grommet is on the lighter side, with the plastic feeling less robust than I anticipated. Fitting the grommet onto my thicker butcher block desktops was a tight squeeze. While it ultimately worked, this is something to keep in mind for those with thicker desks. Measure twice cut once! Having accessible power outlets right on my desktop has been great. It's a simple yet effective way to reduce clutter from cords and keep essential devices powered up during the day. The Desktop Power Grommet is a useful addition to most desks, provided you're prepared for the installation requirements. Thanks for reading, and here's to a more organized and efficient workspace!
