The radiator arrived with miminal damage to the fins. I was concerned about quality and more so the mounting points lining up. However when I installed it today. Everything lined up down to the coolant overflow outlet facing inward towards the engine versus to the battery side, but I will say Denso needs to work on thes packaging because when it arrived I did find the box having protrusion damage where the overflow coolant and the lower return outlet were positioned in the box. At these points, the outlets had broken through the box. Fortunately none of the outlets were damaged as others have experienced. Denso can fix this by placing a foam block over those outlets. Lastly the inner circumfrence of the overflow coolant outlet was burred and I needed to deburr it to make it a true circle and ensure a smooth flow. Probably would not have been a big deal since its overflow only, but it was a conrtast to my OEM Toyota overflow outlet which was free of any burrs. Overall, happy due to the cost and direct placement accuracy. As for its long-term durablilty, that has yet to be confirmed.

The first one I got had a broken overflow valve like I'm seeing happening to a lot of people on here. Its sad because a small plastic piece breaking is ruining an otherwise perfect radiator. Anyways they second day air'd me another one and it is perfect so they stand by their product it just may take a try or two but it ships really fast. So definitely get this one. I got it for my 2000 Toyota 4runner sr5 and I'm putting in a Hayden 698 independent transmission cooler with it. Cheers. One complaint I do have is the petcock valve is tiny and short compared to the oem one. They definitely don't make these as nice as they were back in 98 but thats the only major difference I noticed

I read numerous posts about these arriving damaged in the original Denso box. Mine came in perfect condition in the Denso box and the packaging was extremely stout. I can only assume that Denso got the message and improved their packaging. Besides that, it was a perfect match and a great price. Easy install.

nearly 5 stars, remember like some other reviews say, tighten the transmission lines on this replacement unit, they seem to be a little lose. Good thing I read the reviews here, mine were about 5-10 degrees loose. But other than that no leaks, small small differences from OEM. but very very close to it. If you are thinking btwn this and Oem I don't think you will be disappointed, but by all means go so you have piece of mind. but since our car is a bit rusty, I didn't want to spend the extra money. If I found the rust hole in my car earlier I probably wouldn't have changed this. Doing this as a preventative item, as most of you reading this know about the pink milkshake. but on a 12 year old car. throwing money at was a mistake. not products fault of course. I had fun working on the car, gave me some confidence. took me about 4-5 hours of actually working on it, I had to make a second trip to dealer for a second gal of oem coolant. Should have just put a little extra distilled water, but oh well.

I have a 3rd Gen Toyota 4Runner & my original radiator had a small leak on the top near the main inlet. After going to my local O'Reilly Auto store I found it here with the exact same part # for over $50 less. They wouldn't price match so I bought here on Amazon. It was shipped very safely & protected well. I was able to install it without ANY issues as well. Definitely would by another one if I needed to.

I’m sure this is a good radiator. Denso makes quality OEM Toyota parts. The overflow spout punctured the box enroute and broke off, replacement is on its way. The packaging issues seems to be with Denso and not with the shipping company. It arrived in the manufacture box, no additional packaging. All 4 corners of the radiator are protected but there’s no packing guard around the cap and overflow spout. Unless the shipping companies unbox and add a little extra padding I expect this area to be a weak point in shipping (as seen in other reviewers’ photos). Update: just got my second one in the mail...same issue with the busted overflow spout. Second one also had one of the main flow spouts puncture the box. I gave up and picked up a house branded radiator from Advance Auto and when I opened it up it was padded the full length of the top and bottom protecting all of the flow tubes. Conclusion: If you want the Denso radiator for your 3.4L try finding a local dealer vs chancing it with shipping.

Arrived safe. I read all the reviews about the crappy packaging and ordered anyway....My packaging was great, no damage, padding in all 4 corners and bubble wrap all around. Nothing broken and 99% of fins in tact (one small ding across two, but I'm being really picky here). Couldn't ask for better. I AM disappointed in the drain. OEM had a nice hole that pointed down so when you opened the plug a bit it spewed straight down. Super simple, super effective. This one has no hole, so it just spews out the screw hole you are opening.....one turn too much and the plug shoots off. Definitely not as nice as original in that regard, but everything else looks rock solid. Mounted easily, all screw holes lined up.... Can't complain about any of the major function stuff. Drain plug not as nice as OEM.
