Top Amazon Reviews

  • Quality at a price
Color: Black Style: Home 150
After two years of use, I feel compelled to write a review of this speaker. For background, I have several rooms in my house with Apple HomePod minis and a regular HomePod. The reason for the review is every time I use this speaker in my workout room, I'm astonished at how amazing the sound is coming from this little gem. The price made me pause, for sure. I got it because it had AirPlay compatibility but also because I had a Denon home stereo and was thinking it would integrate easily with that system. As far as AirPlay compatibility, it's been rock solid, even better than the Apple HomePod and I think the sound is more rich. The bass is velvety smooth for such a small speaker. I bought a cheap mounting bracket https://a.co/d/ikB6Yhs to keep it out of the way. It is more than adequate to fill a 12x12 room. ... show more

  • DENON HOME SERIES- EXPENSIVE BUT WORTH IT FOR ME
Color: Black Style: Home 350
I like them! I bought them because I bike a few times a week and I wanted a way to have my music follow me as I move from downstairs after riding to upstairs to get cleaned up. I have a Marantz receiver that has HEOS andI wanted to be able to connect the speakers and the receiver to stream everywhere in the house. It works flawlessly for this purpose. I simply use the HEOS app in my phone and I’m able to go from one streaming service to another, the music saved on my phone or a music server in the house. I have purchased the 150, 250 and 350 and they all sound great. I wanted a speaker that could make my house sound like I was in a club and they do the job. What I was surprised by is that when I just want some nice background music (jazz or classical) they deliver excellent sound as well. They fill the area. They can be subtle and warm or loud and forceful without distortion. Setup was straightforward and connection to my WiFi was pretty easy. Sound quality is excellent in my opinion. I started with the 150s and wished for a bit more bass. The 250s IMHO are a really nice balance with plenty of bass. I do not find them muddy like some reviewers stated. Some reviews complained about them having too much bass and I agree that the 350s are bass heavy. This, however, can be adjusted in the EQ, and frankly, I appreciate the bass in so small a speaker. I hid a 350 in a corner and it completely fills the area with music and its placement is hard to detect. The software has been solid in my experience. You can connect different speakers together and rearrange the combinations by dragging and dropping speakers together. It works. I’m still playing around with this aspect of the speaker/software functionality. I am hoping to find that I can setup different combinations (using the same speakers-reusing different speakers in different groupings), save them, and picking from a saved list which combination I want to use in that moment. However, I am not sure that this is possible. Overall, I think they are great sounding, attractive, versatile speakers. They are expensive! But thus far, I’m really happy with them. ... show more

  • Solid, Versatile Sound with Great Features—But That LED is Bright
Color: Black Style: Home 150 NV
After using the Denon Home 150 for six months, I can say it’s been one of my most reliable speakers. The sound quality is excellent—clear mids, crisp highs, and a nice amount of bass for its size. It’s perfect for everything from background music to white noise at night. I’ve been using it with DLNA to stream white noise from my phone, which works smoothly over Wi-Fi, and the ability to connect via Bluetooth, USB, or Wi-Fi gives me options depending on what I’m doing. Setting it up was super easy, and the HEOS app makes switching sources or adjusting settings simple. The speaker’s build feels solid, and the design is clean and unobtrusive. I especially appreciate that it’s not locked into a single ecosystem like Alexa or Google Assistant. That means no forced updates, no data mining, and no need to rely on a cloud service—just direct control through the app or physical buttons. It integrates seamlessly with HEOS, and since I also have a Denon AV receiver, I can group them together for multi-room audio. It’s great for syncing music throughout the house during parties or keeping ambient sound flowing while I move from room to room. One of the best upgrades for me was discovering that it works with Home Assistant. After a little setup using the built-in HEOS integration, I was able to bring the speaker into my broader smart home system. Now I can control it with my Home Assistant dashboards, automate it with scenes (like turning on soft music in the morning), and even group it with other speakers through Home Assistant’s media controls. It’s not fully native like some Alexa devices, but the HEOS integration is stable and gives me the control I want without sacrificing privacy. My only real gripe is the LED indicator light—it’s way too bright for a bedroom. I like total darkness when I sleep, and that tiny light was surprisingly noticeable at night. I ended up covering it with black electrical tape, which fixed the issue but isn’t the prettiest solution. Other than that, the only downside is the price—it’s definitely not cheap. But for the sound quality, connectivity options, privacy, and now full Home Assistant support, I think it’s worth the cost if you’re looking for a no-compromise, standalone wireless speaker. Just bring some tape if you’re sensitive to light. ... show more
