  • Great sound given the size
Color: Black Size: 550 soundbar Style: Sound Bar
I'm used to my Yamaha YSP5600 sound bar that has far better sound and control, but it has not been updated in years and no longer supports the latest encryption. So I bought this sound bar and subwoofer and I'm pleased overall with it but there are several drawbacks. First the unit lacks the ability to fine tune the performance both with regards to the signal timing (tune the system to the environment) and equalization. You get the choice of three sound fields and that's it. My other issue is the App is very limited. It does not even provide all the functions on the tiny remote. My system was delivered with a non-functioning remote (I'm waiting for the replacement), but without the remote you cannot put the unit into pairing mode to use the bluetooth. This function should be duplicated in the App, but its not. ... show more

  • 350 For the Win!
Color: Black Size: 350 Style: Home 350
First off, the setup is so much more difficult than it has to be. Then 2 hours worth of updates (on gigabit fiber). Also, the base EQ settings are terrible, and the only way I've found to adjust is through the HEOS app, which I could only do once we had internet setup at the new house. Bass is just out of control high and everything is trapped behind it. While waiting for spectrum, I hooked this to the phone in Bluetooth. So, so bad. Quality issues, hard to connect to, muffled trash. And then it happened. The internet finally got hooked up, I got this baby online, and am now listening on wireless. Oh my bleeping bleep this unit sounds amazing. I grew up with hi/fi from Dayton, Bose, etc and the reproduction on this Denon 350 is impressive. Listening to my favorite songs and hearing every instrument so crystal clean, individually like they are in front of me. Crisp vocals. Booming bass drum. I'm hearing things I've never heard in songs I've listened to a thousand times. Un-freaking-believelable! ... show more

  • Love these speakers!
Color: White Size: 150 Style: Home 150
For several years I've had a Marantz receiver with Heos over which I can play all the stations on Sirius XM. Recently the Denon speaker came to my attention, and I purchased a closeout Heos at a local store. The Denon's (upgraded Heos) are perfect with a wonderful sound, better than the sound from my four Bose speakers in my living room. Up to 32 speakers can be added over WiFi (they must be plugged in to electric, of course), each with it's own name. Although I have not yet tried it, each room can be playing a different station; it's all controlled through your phone or iPad (maybe even the computer?). Do not have Alexa and have not needed tech support, so I cannot comment on those two categories. ... show more

  • Surprisingly unimpressive
Color: Black Size: 550 soundbar Style: Sound Bar
A small compact solution with little technical documentation and even worse setup user experience. I generally enjoy Denon products being a massive fan of the AVR lineup of premium home theater receivers. I thought when I needed a better solution for my wall mounted 4K TV in the master bedroom this would be a knockout choice. Pricey, sure, but Denon! First off the bar is very small, and normally that would be a good thing but the soundstage for general TV use is very narrow. Dialog still becomes muffled even with the Dialog Enhancer enabled. Bass is present however, the most noticeable upgrade from my premium Samsung built in speakers. Trying to set this up with that Samsung involved utilizing the HDMI 4 ARC-equipped TV port. At first I could get no sound from it. Most documentation is lacking many technical details, but for me ensuring HDMI-CEC (What Samsung called “Anynet+”) was done in advance. I chose to use Ethernet for networking which most documentation lacks to explain the setup process for. Ultimately through great frustration I came to realize that the bar they shipped me in July 2022 was EXTREMELY out of date with its firmware. Firmware is updated via the HeOS mobile application. Thankfully you do NOT need to set up some stupid account to use the app to set up or configure the bar—points added for straightforward requirements. The firmware takes a… very… long… time… to… update. I counted 25 minutes. After a while the app lost contact with the bar and assumed it was set up. It wasn’t. While the light flashes orange/yellow the firmware is still being updated DO NOT UNPLUG IT. Ignore the app. Wait for the bar to show blue. Just…wait. Once all the firmware updates are applied run through the device setup process again and you should be in business. The volume had to be clicked up about 15 times to finally hear something. Once you’ve hit this point congrats! You’ve done what Denon couldn’t bother to explain clearly. Now I’ll post my criticisms…. Some of these may be due to the TV behavior, so take with a grain of salt… but every time the bar turns on, my TV flips to the input that ARC is active on which obviously doesn’t show any content, as it’s been dedicated to sending audio data to the sound bar. Annoyingly I think this is my reward for spending $2500 on a premium Samsung TV. As is the annoyance of having no idea what the volume level is set to on the bar; pressing up or down volume shows a brief Vol + or Vol - and that’s it. If I connect Bluetooth headphones to the TV at night the TV will shut off the bar connection and blast the TV speakers if the TV volume was left up. Most of these gripes are due to poor TV user experience and likely not the sound bar. The sound bar itself seems to be fairly good but not the massive improvement I was hoping for over the built in speakers. For $600 MSRP I would have expected a much better audio experience from a company like Denon. I don’t know if I should blame it on HeOS, but it’s just underwhelming. Mounting the bar is a bit silly as well. Instead of a nice bracket to mount to you’re given picture-hanging holes. What absolute cheap out on such a premium product. It makes mounting the bar unnecessarily clonky and in most cases will cause it to sag towards the floor. A shelf is a better option if it fits with your decor. A TV wall mount with universal sound bar mounting is even better. Overall I give this product a “meh” out of 10. Not worth the price. If it was $199 I would have felt better. ... show more

Color: Black Size: 550 Style: Denon Home Subwoofer
Paired this with the Denon sound-bar under my flat-screen and WOW... Everything I wanted for listening to music and of course with any TV or movie. Works very well to fill the entire basement of my home with sound. Plenty of power and superb sound quality. Bass is clean and crystal clear with no distortion even at full volume. You won't be disappointed with this quality product. Easy to connect with my existing components. ... show more

  • Sounds Amazing
Color: Black Size: 350 Style: Home 350
The sound this unit puts out is amazing, alot of dept Even with songs with heavy bass it doesn't distort. I also have Denons entry level surround sound system with sub and it also sounds great and is eons better than my old Samsung unit.
