Well the positive first....I was having problem my Samsung TV not recognizing the Samsung soundbar (Ironic isn't it)... The tv would not identify the soundbar even though its from the same manufcturer. But this Denon soundbar was recognized by the Samsung TV and immediately worked. As to the quality of the soundbar it is a glorified TV speaker. and Very disappointing. You would think a soundbar from Denon would perform better, but I am really disappointed. I have another soundbar from Polk and it beats all other brands. Next Time I would upgrade to Polk Soundbar....worth the money for Polk. ... show more

    • It’s just “ok”.
I use this in my office as a stand alone Bluetooth speaker. It breaks my heart to give this a negative review since I’m a real fan of Denon. Let me be clear, it doesn’t suck at all but it really failed to meet my expectations. The mid range is very weak. The bass is muddy. This may do well as a sound bar for a TV but as a stand alone stereo it’s coming up short. I monkeyed around with the EQ settings on my iPhone and concluded that “Latin” was the best setting. Another beef I have is that there is no technical data that I could find on this outfit. As an audiophile all I need to see is frequency respond, THD and DB sensitivity and I’ll know if the speaker will perform. This data was not listed on any sites that I explored. To sum it up, I’m disappointed but not deeply so. I have high expectations for Denon and I feel as though they punted on this one. I would have gladly paid another hundred bucks for a truly amazing outfit. Denon, do better. Don’t participate in the low end market space. Stick with serious quality. Folks are willing to pay for it. ... show more

    • Good quality sound bar with great sound and a great value for the price
Sounds a lot better than the cheaper soundbars out there for around the same price. Not as good as my Definitive Technology w Studio in the living room but at 1/3 the price, it sounds at least 90% as good. Could use a dialogue boost function or a dedicated center channel (which would add to the price of course) as dialogue sounds a bit weak in some movies or TV shows. Also could use a smart volume feature as the commercials while watching TV are always a LOT louder but this is a problem that is not unique to this product. Easy to setup and quite a few options for connectivity including optical, rca, and bluetooth. Overall a great value especially for bedroom or office use. Maybe not quite powerful enough for living room (if your living room is huge like mine is). ... show more

We have a large room with lots of glass and marble flooring, not good for sound. This bar made all the difference. The Bose we tested was horrible. This was less money and far better sounding. It's perfect for movies; clears the speech yet gives you punch for the effects and music. This is not a mighty sound system, but it provides very clear voice with added support. ... show more

    • Spend more for Denon product or go with others
Bought this to replace a similar Vizio system I broke during a move. The denon unit left a lot to be desired in regards to sound depth and fullness. Connectivity with the hdmi is spotty at best. At this price point, I wish I just bought another Vizio sound bar. Otherwise, I should have considered a more upmarket product from denon. ... show more

    • Good sound BUT..... that remote control is another story
The bass is excellent, the sound bar is very good but the problem is that the remote has no operation manual and the "sleek" gold on black print on the remote control make it impossible to read with the lights down and still difficult to read with the lights up. I still haven't figure out what the buttons labeled 1,2,3 are used for. And the meaning of light indicators on the sound bar for the various features is not apparent. Again a manual to explain the remote control features would have helped. That is the biggest issue you will face. ... show more
