I believe the dimensions provided in the description for this item, 8.7"D x 11.2"W x 18"H, are for the step on top of the stool, not the dimensions of the bottom of the stool when opened (foot-print). I was looking for a step to fit on a pool ledge that is 9 inches deep, so thought this would work, it kinda works but the foot depth is not 8.7" it is more like 11 inches....other than that, its a nice product. ... show more

Didn't realize how I much I needed this before actually having it. It is really easy use it but I believe there may be a small design fault. While folding it you can get your fingers stuck in the stool if you are not careful. Other than that good quality.
