It opens easily, no worries about pinches from hinges or awkward latches and closes just as easily. Honestly this ladder feels safer and sturdier than any other ladder I've owned. It is lightweight, and easy to move and carry around to where it's needed. It does take up more space when folded for storage than my previous step stool, but that just means I cannot store it in my already full kitchen pantry, or entry closet, I keep it in the garage. I can move it easily so not a big deal. We are not small people in my household, but the ladder feels sturdy when in use. When you're done, it folds up easily and stands up in the garage nicely for storage.

I love the step stool. I am short and need it to get in my high reach places. This is the second one I have purchased but a different brand. The only disappointment on this one is that the plastic strap you use to carry it broke from one side. So now it is a little clumsy to carry..Looks like manufacturer could easily send me another strap to replace it with if I can somehow get a hold of them. Not to promising!
