When I got the box I thought, "uh oh, I'm going to need to build this thing." It was so flat. But when I opened the box I realized this step ladder folds very flat. It will fit in between my bookshelf and the wall just fine. It's also tall. I'm not tall so changing ceiling lightbulbs is a challenge especially since there's always a decorative cover that needs to be unscrewed from the escutcheon. Since I was done with standing on a small unsteady stool that swivels I had to have this. The day I got it, I changed out the bulb I needed to change, swapped out an air filter, and even vacuumed out a ledge near the ceiling I could never reach before. Even standing on the top step I never felt unsteady. Its sturdy without being super heavy and its easy to open and close. Best part is it folds very flat and stores easy. We are doing some upgrades in the house and have been using this ladder in every room including some outdoor use. It’s super lightweight so very easy to carry around even for me (I’m 5’7). It’s much easier to use than a traditional bulky ladder, and very easy to store as well. My husband has big feet and weighs over 200 lbs and so far it’s been holding up very well. ... show more

Other reviewers have noted this ladder is heavy. It definitely is. There are two weights noted in the product details. Under product information, the "item weight" is noted as 9.1 pounds, but under production description, the weight is noted as 17.5 pounds. Well, it is definitely not 9.1 pounds. I did not weigh the ladder, but I am pretty sure it is closer to 17.5 pounds if not a bit heavier. Of course, I did not expect a 4-step ladder that is sturdy to be 9.1 pounds. It is a bit heavy for me to carry around, but then I don't have to carry it around too far. I found it to be sturdy although I worry about the little bars that connect the steps to the frame. That is why I gave 4 stars for sturdiness. It is definitely easy to open and close, no strong muscles needed. Also, it closes into a very slender form. So, you can store it in a very narrow space -- say between your fridge and wall or dryer and wall. The fourth step allows me (and I am short) to get way up so that I can even paint the ceiling without having to get on my toes. I completed two home repairs with it on the day after I received it. So, I am basing this review on that experience, and the fact that I spent a lot of time on the ladder. Overall, I am very happy with this ladder so far. Is sturdy enough for me to hang my pictures ( that why I bought it for ) and I had it on carpet, I’m 135 lbs it did not wobble at all . I could touch the ceiling stepping on second step , but I’m short too . Hope it helps , was very hard for me to find this one because people either don’t buy much stepping stools/ ladders or they don’t think is important to write a review about it . ... show more

Ok, this four step ladder is EXACTLY what we needed. I have used it inside the house, in the pantry. And I have taken it outside to hang up Halloween decorations! It is sturdy! With that said, it is heavy... much heavier than my old three step ladder. (My poor toes...) But the three step ladder was definitely flimsier! There is also a bit of a learning curve to closing the ladder. Push down on the 'button' and then lift up! I was tempted to rate it lower in the "easy to fold" question... But truly, it is as simple as push down, then pull up!! Once that fully registered in my head, I stopped fighting with it, lol!! Yes, it was more expensive than many others on the market. But in a side by side comparison, I have no regrets!!! Highly recommended!!! ... show more

I purchased based on positive reviews and was disappointed. I'm not a big person (less than 150lbs) yet when I climbed on this I could feel the legs slowly moving farther from the step side of the ladder. Also, it wiggles easily side to side.
