  • This is a nice bench
I will enjoy this bench for many years.

  • I love it
It was easy to put together and is very sturdy. I used wood glue on all the frame pieces to help. Been using it for a few months with no issues. I never considered a proper bench a necessity, but it eliminated so many things I'd been struggling with. It's definitely worth the money.

  • Great for the Price
I'm not sure why there would be a bad review for this item, it's perfect for the price. I did a lot of looking for an economic bench to use. This is sturdy and assembling it was easy. The bench pin could have some wiggle to it but I took the extra wood screws and screwed it fast to the front plate before I screwed that fast to the bench top. Worked perfectly to keep it from moving. The arm rest aren't anything to write home about but they are there, with some work I could make them better. The wood is ruff but after I'm done abusing this thing it will be just fine. I did use some pro wood glue on the joins. My husband pointed out that was most likely a waste as the wood is finished and glue doesn't help finished wood stick. Oh well it's glued anyway. LOL Over all he feels the bench is nice and looks to be made with quality materials (maybe not top of the line) but still good. I just love it and the height seems just right for me. I don't understand the bad reviews, for the price this is a good overall product I will buy again. ... show more

  • Overall worth the money and assembly
The media could not be loaded. It arrived quickly! Came in two boxes. Just finished assembling. The assembly is a real project. Had to use some elbow grease at times, but that is to be expected with these benches. The instructions didn't always match the diagram, so there is some guess work. A couple of screws were missing from the pack and there was some random unknown extra part included. If you haven’t much experience assembling furniture it will be tricky. The bench itself is not THE sturdiest or highest quality Ive ever had, but I am NOT mad at it at all, especially for the price! Overall I’m pleased. I will update if anything comes up once I've used it for a while. ... show more

  • Mixed Feelings
Mixed feelings about it. It's smaller than I thought. But that was my problem reading the description. The most frustrating part is that you'll have to take it apart more than once if you follow the instructions/diagrams exactly (there's some frustrating inconsistencies, which makes me think quality assurance isn't a big deal for this company). If you're unsure which way the core 3 pieces go, look at the last few steps. It was a project putting it together, as another reviewer said. You also need a drill. There was some core bolts missing, the longer 2 1/2" version. I had to drive to 3 different Home Depots to find a match - but I was unsuccessful. I eventually switched out some parts (1/4-20 instead of 1/4-28) thanks to some help from someone who knows their stuff. It'll probably last a long, long time. ... show more

  • Its not solid oak, its pine. Good value for the price.
I didn't like that one part of the wood came in to me with two splits in the wood. Looks like they joined 3 pieces of wood with glue to make the width, fine. Problem is they put the predrilled holes for assembly right on the line where it was glued together. So the wood split. I tried to contact the company and blnever heard from them. Was supposed to get an email back through their customer care online portal or what ever. So for that reason I cannot give 5 stars. Its a nice starter desk for the price. I am staining it and sealing it up so it can last longer. ... show more

  • Good workbench not the best instructions
This jewelry workbench is solid. I would have given 5 stars but the instructions aren’t great and you need common sense to build it and I had a damaged part. Fortunately the customer service was excellent to ship me a replacement part. But that part was incorrectly drilled (manufacturing thing) so I had to wait for a replacement on the replacement. The whole thing set me back a few weeks. Customer service is everything and they get 10 stars for this!!! Overall I recommend this workbench as the dining room table no longer cuts it for me. ... show more

  • I am now a master carpenter
There isn't a single piece of this that is preassembled and directions are written in half-sentences. There were no pilot holes for any of the screws and many awkward positions trying to get a bolt to align with a camlock. Thankfully I have more tools than a screwdriver and an allen wrench. The bottom of the 2 main drawers is pretty flimsy and they're pretty loose in their slots, so can't be pulled out very far for working. The 3 small drawers are handy, but you'll want to add knobs, since they fit tightly in their slots and the insert for pulling out the drawer is made for a 3-year old's fingers. This will be handy for my studio and serve its purpose, but in retrospect a sturdy desk with lots of drawers would have been more comfortable to work at and fill the same role. ... show more
