This is the 4th set of drawers by "7 Elements" I've purchased and I love them all. My first purchase was two sets of the 4-drawer units in 2021 and I came back and ordered another two sets, this time two 6-drawer units in 2024. There are other listings showing similar ones but I was really pleased with the quality of the '7 Elements' brand so I made sure to get that same brand the second time around. These are so classy and versatile! I used my first set to store crystals and stones that I collect. I cut felt to line the drawers for the crystals and they look beautiful that way. The drawers are very shallow though. If you're trying to gauge the depth, I can fit a deck of standard playing cards in it and close the drawers, but nothing thicker than that. So it's great for my smaller cabochons and flatter stones, and necklaces. For this most recent purchase, I bought two 6-drawer sets for my art pencils and markers in my art studio. In the top unit I have drawing pencils, mechanical pencils, spare lead, erasers and then ink pens and some small paint brushes. Then in the bottom unit I have all my colored pencils and coloring markers. Standard colored pencils will fit two layers deep, although I prefer to keep them in a single layer for quick visual reference. Markers can fit two layers deep depending on the markers, but it's safer to expect a single layer for most brands. I can fit 10 pencils and 8 markers in each wide section (single layer), but obviously this will vary with your brand of supplies. The dividers are not removable or movable. The quality is excellent. The outside is beautiful, smooth, light wood. The inside is a bit more hit or miss, sometimes an occasional splinter or glue marks, other times not. But it's a minor issue and doesn't bother me in the least, because they're so nice otherwise. They're stackable, although they don't lock into place or anything, you just set one on top of the other. I've never had an issue with them sliding around. The drawers come right out (nothing holds them in the unit), so I often remove a drawer or two at a time and use them as trays on my drawing table while I color. Whether it's for my crystals or my art supplies, these bring me joy and excitement every time I open a drawer. And they look great in any setting, my bedroom or my art studio. ... show more

These drawers are perfect for organizing most of my pencils and pens, and I have a lot at this point. I like how the drawers are divided to keep things organized. Feels sturdy and high quality. And the finish looks nice. I will buy another when my art supplies collection needs it.

I am raising my. rating to 4 stars and added two new pictures - this must be better thanI thought it was because I just ordered a second one. My primary problem was that the drawers not just quite shallow, but have too much room, front to back, that the shallowness prevents one from reaching things that slide back without removing the entire drawer. Well that is not much of a hardship. But I have improved the drawer spacing to prevent my pens from sliding back out of reach by providing a barrier made of popsicle sticks trimmed to fit and glued into place, to keep my pens forward, giving myself extra space for things like ink cartridges and converters. Since my pen collection is growing, I ordered another of these, which I will stack neatly on top of the first one, and that should keep me happy for quite a while. Following is my original review. I was so looking forward to this as it seemed a perfect solution for fountain pen and stationery storage. The top two drawers are partitioned rather oddly, but that's OK. The first problem is that the top drawer will not close if any pens are too fat -- I have two pens that are too big for the top drawer -- if you have a Pelikan Twist or almost any hefty Jinhao pen, they will not fit in the top drawer. Second drawer is fine. The third drawer, which should have been perfect for stationery is simply too small, front to back, for size A4 paper to lie flat -- seriously, it is off by just a fraction of a fraction of a centimeter. It is beyond me why anybody would make something like this too small to hold a standard size sheet of paper, when it would have been sensible and SO easy to give that one littlest bit of extra space. I will take care of the problem myself by removing the back of the drawer. I should not have to do this. Other than that, it is a fairly nice looking piece - I cannot judge its sturdiness yet, I have had it only a few hours. Ask me a year from now. ... show more

I've been on a pen acquisition spree recently and needed somewhere to store my new precious pens!! You know how it is right ?? 😁 I needed something that would match my older cases and found this one online. From all the reviews it seemed like a good fit and indeed it is. The one thing I really like about this set of drawers is the deep bottom drawer. I've got lots of leads (enough for about 10 lifetimes!) and needed somewhere to store them. The bottom drawer is deeper that the top 2 so you can put all your nick-nacks in there. It's full already!! The compartments are fixed in size so you have to organize your pens/pencils/watnot accordingly. I seem to get around 7 pens in the 4 larger compartments and in the middle one I get 2 (there are 5 total). The bottom has no dividers so it's up to you how you sort that out. There is no felt/foam in the drawers so this is something you will have to add. I'm my last set of drawers there was but the price has become ridiculous. A bit of cheap thin foam will do if you feel it is needed but to be honest it's probably not worth it. The drawers slide in an out well. They are just resting so you get wood on wood friction. No big deal and if you are really concerned you could wax the bottoms. I prefer to leave them in their natural state and let them get all mucky from graphite fingers etc!! From a side to side action there is a bit of play. Nothing too much but it's there probably to give enough room for manipulating the drawers as you pull them in and out. The handles are perfect. Small and unobtrusive with a small scallop to get a better grip. Overall, I'm very happy. Will see how they survive the test of time!! ... show more

The 7 Elements Artists box is very nicely made, and useful for so many things I haen';t decided yet what it will be used for. I have some similar boxes I bought years ago, advertised as tool boxes, but they became jewelry boxes. I work with hot glass, and suspect I originally purchased this for my brass tools, but... it is also a very hood size for beads and small vessels (which I make). The drawers are about half an inch deep and compartmentalized. You could take out the wooden slat dividers if you wanted to use it to store pens or brushes, paper, fabric (but not a lot of it). It is a great box to organize small things, nicely finished and a great value for the quality. ... show more

This is an excellent price and this is a great product. I love it for all my colored pencils( I fit about 200 pencils) and my 24 ink pens and more. I have seen this similar product in four and three drawer at about the same price on line. I read some had to sand edges and wax...well I might wax the edges a bit to slide smoother but all in all its great. Th wood its made from is light weight and still its sturdy enough for me ... I am easy going and don't see any issues with the type of wood its made of. There's only thing I don't like is the NON moveable dividers...not a deal breaker at this price . I will buy another one for sure . ... show more
