The plastic is thin, but that also means light weight. As long as you don't abuse it the tube should hold up pretty good! They meet my basic needs. They would make a very good tube to hold architectural drawings, roll up some of your kids school pictures you want to frame or leave for them when they are older, beats having boxes and running the risk of damaging them. Or you could put your college posters you wish you still had because vintage brings in $$$. Also ideal for the every day run of the mill art thief - wide mouth means it will hole quite a bit. Bear in mind that the tubes are not heavy gauge plastic... very thin - so caveat emptor but it does the job. Caveat Emptor is Latin is the axiom or principle in commerce that the buyer alone is responsible for assessing the quality of a purchase before buying. AKA a commercial principle that without a warranty the buyer takes upon himself the risk of quality: The straps are adjustable making it convenient over the back hold while repelling from the museum roof top. The only negative and it has been noted in other remarks is the smell when you open the containers. I opened them both up, took a whiff and man oh man did it stink. I did not recognize it.. It did not matter. The easy cure was to pour shot glass size of fresh ground coffee. I tipped them up, covers off, with coffee in them on the patio for as long as it took to get rid of the funk. Do not use water - keep it dry - reduces the additional mess surrounding cleaning the unit yet again. I kept it outside only to reduce the risk that it would stink so bad as to set off a gaseous plume in the garage. After I sealed them up - left them out for another day or so to see if the funk had returned. No it did not... Brought them back in the house - have one left to fill. The one I used after adjusting the length is now holding my 2 Kites... what did you think it was going to be Art work? ... show more

This work great for my tabletop wargame playmats, and the extension capability is great. They're good enough for transportation purposes, but probably wouldn't survive getting a suitcase or something heavy dropped on them.

I ordered these to be used as rod and reel storage. The fact that they are expandable was one of the reasons for this brand. They are water resistant, but not water proof...okay for me. The attached carry strap is adjustable, and is attached to the cap so no worry of a misplaced cap. While they are not crush proof, they are sturdy enough we have them in the back of the truck for last minute fishing. Have also fitted for carrying on the back of our HD while traveling. Holding up well. Could be just a bit bigger on the inside diameter, but they do work. They price is great! ... show more

Great product. I like the fact that I could buy in small numbers, as I needed only one or two to store posters and canvas prints. It's not as sturdy as a heavy cardboard tube, so it might be susceptible to crushing, but I think it will hold up very well. And it's better protected from water. I'm highly satisfied! ... show more
