Perfect lens filter adapter for Fuji x100Vi! I have been looking for something that fit my x100Vi and would let me mount my zeiss filters. There are a few options out there, but some are not long enough to avoid throwing an error. The lens of the x100Vi moves in and out as you focus and when you focus as close as you can with the lens, it moves out of the body a few millimeters. If your adapter does not go far enough out it will hit whatever filter you put on the adapter. This causes a focusing error to show. This lens adapter is just far enough out that i have never once got the error. It looks to be very durable and it matches the color and texture of the Fuji x100Vi perfectly. It works perfectly to offer a little protection to your lens as well. As far as value goes, best upgrade I’ve added to my camera!

Here's the thing about the X100V: you can't mount a filter - and to get it properly weather sealed you have to use one. Fuji, incredibly, wants to sell you an adapter ring to allow you to mount a filter - a simple metal ring that costs $49 and no one has in stock anyway. So I found an alternative with a third party for under $20 that included an adapter ring and a lens hood - the hood was, of course, optional in use. The problem with THAT solution is that the stock lens cap fell off. All the time. So I bought a cheap black plastic squeeze style cap. But I hate those. THIS, though, allows you to mount a filter AND uses the stock cap. Which does not fall off. Yay. It also looks REALLY close to stock (I have a silver camera and got the silver ring), close enough for me that it doesn't stick out at all as some weird add-on. Criticisms: it could, perhaps be a bit shallower - as in not stick out so much. Also, the cap feels quite tight on this - tighter than stock. Not sure if that's due to the additional depth or that it might be a bit wider (note to self: check with micrometer). While I love it being secure, I have a SMALL bit of concern that the felt on the interior of the cap will be overly compressed and might lead to it being loose on the stock camera with no adapter ring. But that hasn't happened yet - it's just in my head. I'll stop worrying about it and shoot - that way it's off anyway.

This looks nice and feel quality. The outside diameter is too large to fit my original lens cap. I purchased another x100 lens cap thinking it may be different. It was exactly the same size as my original cap. I wanted to like this but JJC let me down.

I didn't use a filter on my x100f and sort of knicked up the front, so this time, I decided to twy one out. The problem with the x100 is that you can't screw on a filter like most cameras, the threads are on the outside of the lens barrel. Anyway, this adapter has a threaded side to allow you to screw onto the lens barrel and then to screw the filter onto the other side of the adapter. The adapter looks a little thick which it srot of is, but the orginal lens cap for the x100 still fits! Now, there are those adapter that has the filter permanently attached to the adapter, or this type with the adapter a separate peice. This is better because you can attach a magnetic adapter to this adpater and use any sort of CPL, UV, whatever filter you need.

I'll stand by the statement that this is better-constructed than the X100. It gives a very simple look and omits the bayonet lens hood mount - but let's be real; no one uses lens hoods with the X100 series. As a bonus, the 49mm female-to-female configuration also makes this a solution for people who are perplexed by the male front filter threads on the MS-Optics Sonnetar lenses. Well done!
