I needed to replace a 30 year old Delta valve that was really showing it's age. Delta makes this replacement "renovation kit." It was compatible with the existing plumping piece in the wall. Otherwise, I would have had to tear it out and replace it with another brand. It made the upgrade much easier. It works well. The only reservation I have about Delta, it seems to be a bit lower quality line than some others. Although this item works quite well (and the original Delta worked well for 30 years) the large cover is a little lite duty looking out of the box. When installed, you can't really tell any difference. The valve and handle have a good solid feel and works well. I went with a Moen tub spout (and other fixtures) because the Delta spout was plastic. (There was no plastic pieces in this Renovation kit.) ... show more

    • Favorite Thing Ever!
Wanted to replace the nasty and ubiquitous brass and "crystal" handle shower Delta 600 knob but didn't want to deal with replacing the valve in the wall. This made the job so easy! I'm so happy. While it is expensive for what it is...it's so much cheaper than any other option.

    • Lost Half of my Water Pressure/Volume! No Good!
I want so bad to give this retrofit kit a better rating but I just can’t. Yes, it does look nice so it deserves one star for that, but everything else about it is a failure. Firstly, the EPA regulated garbage ball valve should be a crime to sell because of how much it limits water pressure. When I used this kit to replace the valves and retrofit my 1970s showers, I immediately noticed a loss of about half of the water pressure and volume that I had before. It takes at least twice as long to fill the bath tub now!!!! To add to it, one of the kits I purchased is already failing as the water has started dripping even though the faucet is turned off. The real unfortunate part is that these valves are proprietary so you can’t get a different brand and put in place unless you change to a different handle and faceplate again. Im really disappointed in these - other than looking nice, they aren’t worth the pot metal that they’re made of. Huge waste of time and money and it’s driven me away from using Delta products in the future. ... show more

Am well pleased as I'm updating my 1994 home to get rid of the chrome/brass look and turning all my fixtures in the house to this bronzed look.
