I bought this AC mostly because of its favorable reviews, especially about how quiet it is. My experience was the opposite. The lowest fan speed is far too fast and loud. There really is no need for medium or high. although the compressor is relatively quiet (not much louder than just the fan alone, it started to rattle after being on for about 30 seconds and never stopped until it kicked off. Was it easy to install? Yes. Did it cool my apartment quickly? Yes. Is it EXTREMELY LOUD even on low? YES. The fan seems to be rattling even on the low setting and the low setting is still pretty intense so it’s just super loud overall. I already trashed the box so I can’t return it but if I still had the box, I absolutely would. Midea is a complicated install and not reliable long-term but at least it’s QUIET, and when it works, it works really well. ... show more

It’s too hot in Texas in the summertime! Our central AC works well, but no matter what there’s always a struggle to cool the whole house in the summer. Bought one of these on prime day just to give a little help for our master bedroom to sleep nice and cold and so far been very happy with it. Our bedroom is on the second floor so access the rear I have to get a ladder which kind of sucks but so far it’s been fine. We’ll see about longevity. It’s gonna get a work out until winter fall rises if it ever does. The app is nice for the set up. Instructions are terrible. It arrived very fast....my grandson installed it....had a little trouble setting it in our window because we have plastic type windows he got it in ok after a few tries !!!!! the ac is working fine and we really love the econ button and it is so quite than the old one that just stopped working.....the electric bill next month will tell how much we save over the old machine !!!!! ... show more
