Though they only seem to last for a year, year and a half. Then they start acting up. Not wanting to read a disc, slow to load and so on. On my laptop it was far from plug and play. I had to sort thru all the folders on the disc to find set up, which was hidden in the middle of 20 other files/folders. Even then I had to reboot my computer, install and reinstall software twice. For other macOS shoppers, this device does not work on my 2021 macbook pro 16" running Ventura. I read the reviews and Q&A and it wasn't clear, so I took a chance. But the computer doesn't even recognize that the device is plugged in.
