  • Compact and Powerful—An Excellent Choice for a Home Office Setup
**Dell OptiPlex 7050 Micro Computer, Intel Quad Core i5-6500T** **Compact and Powerful—An Excellent Choice for a Home Office Setup** I recently upgraded my home office with the Dell OptiPlex 7050 Micro Computer, and it has been an outstanding addition to my workspace. This compact yet powerful machine handles all of my daily tasks with ease, making it perfect for anyone needing a reliable and efficient computer for work or personal use. **What I Liked:** - **Compact Design**: The first thing that stands out about the Dell OptiPlex 7050 is its incredibly compact size. It takes up minimal space on my desk, which is a big plus in a home office where space can be limited. Despite its small footprint, it doesn’t compromise on performance, making it a great option for those who need to maximize their workspace. - **Strong Performance**: Powered by an Intel Quad Core i5-6500T processor with speeds up to 3.1GHz, this micro computer delivers excellent performance for everyday tasks. Whether I’m multitasking with multiple applications, browsing the web, or handling office work, the system runs smoothly and efficiently. The 16GB of DDR4 RAM ensures that everything runs quickly and without lag, even when working with demanding software. - **Fast SSD Storage**: The 256GB SSD provides fast boot times and quick access to files and programs. I noticed a significant improvement in overall system responsiveness compared to my previous setup. The SSD is also more reliable and durable than traditional hard drives, adding to the longevity of the computer. - **Windows 10 Pro**: The inclusion of Windows 10 Pro 64-bit is a great feature, offering enhanced security and administrative features that are ideal for a professional environment. The multi-language support (English/Spanish/French) adds flexibility, especially if you work in a multilingual setting or need to switch between languages. - **Easy Setup and Connectivity**: Setting up the Dell OptiPlex 7050 was quick and straightforward. It comes with all the necessary ports, including USB 3.0, HDMI, DisplayPort, and Ethernet, making it easy to connect to peripherals like monitors, printers, and external storage devices. The built-in Wi-Fi also ensures that I stay connected without needing extra adapters. - **Renewed, But Like New**: I was initially hesitant about purchasing a renewed product, but the OptiPlex 7050 exceeded my expectations. The computer arrived in excellent condition, with no visible wear or signs of previous use. It functions just like a brand-new machine, offering great value for a fraction of the cost. **What I Didn’t Like:** - **Limited Internal Storage**: While the 256GB SSD is fast and reliable, it might be on the smaller side for those who need to store a large amount of data or run multiple large programs. However, this can easily be mitigated by using external storage or cloud solutions. For most home office tasks, though, the storage capacity should be sufficient. - **No Dedicated Graphics**: The computer uses integrated Intel HD Graphics, which are fine for general office work, web browsing, and video streaming. However, if you need to perform graphics-intensive tasks like video editing or gaming, this system might not be the best choice. That said, for typical office use, the integrated graphics perform adequately. - **Basic Accessories**: The computer doesn’t come with a keyboard, mouse, or monitor, so you’ll need to have or purchase those separately. While this isn’t unusual for a desktop setup, it’s something to keep in mind if you’re starting from scratch. However, this also allows you to choose accessories that best fit your needs and preferences. **Bottom Line:** The Dell OptiPlex 7050 Micro Computer is a compact, powerful, and reliable option for any home office setup. Its strong performance, fast SSD storage, and efficient multitasking capabilities make it an excellent choice for professionals who need a dependable computer for daily tasks. While the internal storage and graphics capabilities might be limiting for some specialized uses, the overall value and functionality of this renewed system are hard to beat. If you’re looking for a space-saving, high-performing computer that handles typical office work with ease, the Dell OptiPlex 7050 is a fantastic choice. I’ve been very satisfied with its performance in my home office, and it has made my workday much more efficient and enjoyable! ... show more

  • A Good Bang For Your Buck
I gave it 5 stars for what it is. It is a decent computer for little money. Perfect for use as a media server. I was going to replace its Windows 10 with Linux as it wouldn’t upgrade to Windows 11, and therefore , an end to security updates. It stated the cpu wasn’t compatible. But I thought I would try a a fresh install of Windows 11 from a USB stick, lo and behold, it installed without issue. The computer itself is in good shape and it came with everything needed to get up and running except a monitor. It is compact and uses a usb stick for WiFi connectivity which it came with. ... show more

  • Great value
Just works. Arrived in near perfect condition - no dust/dirt inside and hardware all looks good. Easy to swap out parts. Great space saver as well - might order a few more for my home lab. Note, this machine does not support Windows 11 without a workaround, not applicable to me but may be to other people. ... show more

  • Good Unit, but not complete
This small but compact computer is well worth the price. If you are looking for a basic computer to do basic and even intermediate computing then do not pass up the chance to get one of these Dell computers. With 16gb of RAM and a decent processor, this computer is super fast and well worth it. HOWEVER, be careful. As the unit is a refurbished unit I found out that not everything described in the description was correct. Yes, the unit can do WiFi but that is a separate kit. It may be possible that the WiFi unit was never provided as the punch out on the rear of the unit was open, where you can see that the unit at one time had it installed. In my option, this is minor issue as the on board speed of the WiFi adapter was only 1gb, and I needed 2.5gb, so I purchased a separate USB WiFI adapter. Great unit and worth the price. ... show more

  • Nice little PC
After reading other reviews I I think I first have to say that my PC came with a USB network interface card taped to it and read to use. My PC also came with the correct power supply and adapter. I believe others may not have had the same experience, but mine came with everything that was described and needed. Computer runs great and will work fine for what I have intended for it, streaming videos to my TV. ... show more

  • Liked the deal so much, I got two!
I needed a compact Windows machine for my crowded desktop. Primarily for microprocessor programming (maker/arduino stuff) The front USB ports come in very handy, and the small form factor means it is tucked in a corner. 250GB SSD is plenty for most people - there is also a slot for a 3.5" drive inside. Graphics are solid when I run it directly connected to a monitor. It is very quiet. Since it had Windows 10 Pro, the license permitted a Windows 11 Pro upgrade. Here is the trick, it won't upgrade through the Windows Update screen. Find a 16GB thumb drive, go to the MS website and have it create a bootable thumb drive with windows install media. You'll need to go into the bios and enable USB boot support - then have at it. I decided to upgrade to a 1TB SSD (M.2 NVMe) available here for $60ish before the install - this also saved the Win 10 Pro on the old SSD, just in case. I'm typing from the machine now - Win 11 Pro accessed from a chromebook through an RDP client! I did go into the windows performance section of setup and chose max performance. There is no need for this to go to sleep - there is no spinning drive. Just shut down the display when idle. Why the second one? I set it up for my neighbor! Her old mini is dying a slow death. Boot time on this one is great too! If you can do a little tech stuff (or accept win 10 EOL) this is a great little machine. ... show more
