I have always been bothered when old desktops get tossed for being outdated when it's more economically and environmentally friendly to update the hardware, so I was was super excited for this find. It has more than enough hard drive space, perfect RAM to speed it up, and everything is already set up for latest Windows 11 so all you have to do is turn it on and follow the set up prompts. Definitely worth the price and fills my business needs for this computer. So far, this renewed desktop is performing well. There's plenty of regular USB ports on both the front and back. And I do appreciate the built-in disc drive (seems to be rare in computers today). The unit came with a keyboard and mouse, which I didn't need, but nice to have if you need it or as a backup. I did run into an issue with the provided Wi-Fi adapter shutting off on me, but it turned out my anti-virus software installed an incorrect update. Once I reversed that update, the Wi-Fi adapter immediately went back to functioning perfectly. The only downsides--and my fault for not reading the specs closer--is that there is no Bluetooth adapter and only one HDMI port (there are two DP ports, which my monitor cables don't have). Thankfully, the needed adapters are inexpensive (e.g. $10 for a Bluetooth adapter). All-in-all, this and any other renewed desktop is worth the money. Remember to consider the specs you need and find the one that matches your needs.     • Perfect for a Minecraft Server!
You dont need no high end computer to host your own Minecraft Server! Something like this, precisely this, would work very well Lag Free with many mods (25-75 depending on how small and large they are) without Any issue. I highly recommend ONLY using it for that and Nothing else bc other tasks will start running in the background taking up precious CPU and RAM ypur server may need. This is 64gb of RAM and its DDR4 so you can replace the cheap ram thats inside it with better ram to squeeze out a bit more performance potentially a fair bit more if you do. You have some options with upgrading it which is nice! This could be used for home and office things, home servers, gaming servers aka Minecraft but i dont recommend gaming heavily on it lol its not meant for that but can fair pretty well with most games, i recommend upgrading the RAM if you decide to do so and remember its not a $900+ gaming pc so dont expect it do to what a mid to high end gaming pc can or should do, thats being un realistic :P I definitely dont see why you couldnt play Minecraft itself on it either, i havent done that but it should definitely be able to do so with decent frames. Ill test that and get back with the review on that. For a Minecraft Server on its own its absolute perfect! A heavily Minecraft Modded Server might wanna get something slightly more beefy (better CPU, RAM a GPU would be optional unless its RLCraft) this should be able to handle up too around 100 Minecraft Mods and potentially arpund 70-130 plugins/data packs for a Bukkit/Spigiot server. ... show more

This has been in use as a sub-server for a private AI persona for about 2 months now and has maintained its speed parameters, CPU cycles and overall performance in its tasks. DELL has always and continues to be a very strong and stable product. I wish I could say as much for Microsoft's, Oracle or Red Hat Operating systems. I received this computer a few day ago and it has been a very satisfactory purchase. I just wanted to call out a few extras that were unexpected. The product was exceptionally clean and met or exceeded all specs in the posting. I actually received a 7050 instead of a 7040. The version of windows was pro and not home. This wasn't specified in the posting but is definitely a bonus. The computer doesn't come with wifi built in but they included a 2.4 ghz wifi dongle. Also not listed in the ad. The keyboard and mouse were at the very low end. Good to get started but a personal preference is always needed for those items so they will be replaced. An odd thing was that all of the dell logos were removed. This differed from the ad which had them. The case looks cleaner without the logos and there was no glue residue or marks I could see. I would definitely recommend a refurbished computer from Amazon renewal. ... show more

So far so good. I bought it solely for making/editing videos. I have a similar Dell (different model) for my business computer and have not had any glitches in the several years that I have been using it. Price was great too!
