I leave it on only occasionally turning it or if leaving it for days. Also made a local only account so not to register a Microsoft account with their spy and bloatware. I feel like at this size, a 2K monitor is the best you can get for the money. I've always preferred Dell monitors--the color/contrast/viewing angles seem to be better than many others. That is the case here. However, using this with the new MacBook M1 processor, the only way you will get clear 2K and billions of colors is by connecting it to a Thunderbolt dock, which is connected to the monitor via DisplayPort, and then scaling it down to 2048X1152. Using a USB-C dock will result in a less-clear display, and only millions of colors. Either way, however, you do not get the clear, Retina-like HiDPI like you would get from an Intel-based MacBook. Hopefully either Apple or DisplayLink can fix this in the near future. For Windows/Intel laptops, you get the full 2K in all its brilliance, and the experience is very satisfying (tried it on my work laptop). ... show more

This computer truly meets my needs: 32GB of RAM, 14 cores with 20 logical and good enough to run a few virtual machines in parallel. It comes with 1TB of NVMe SSD and allows me to add another 2TB NVMe SSD chip. Runs pretty fast on daily work. The only concern is that it is so small, and the heat ventilation / air conditioning does not go well and the back side of the machine could go kind of hot after 30 minutes of use. My background; Landscape Architecture Monitor use; Photoshop Rendering and 3D Modeling (Lumion, Sketchup, Etc.) I recently built a PC to keep at home for work and play. I was hesitant to buy an expensive monitor (2k quality or greater, IPS panel, high color accuracy) because I wasn't sure if it would be a noticeable difference at 23". I am glad I bought this monitor anyway! It was a breeze to hook up, took maybe 5 minutes to set up. The minute I turned on my PC with the new monitor I could see the higher-quality resolution this monitor had compared to my work computer monitor (HP 27er). 5 stars if the situation wasn't so odd but yet I feel like I should know the answer but cannot pinpoint it. I can't register the PC for warranty. All warranty/support ticket options are rerouted to China or International. I spent a couple of hours on the phone with Dell support. Many emails. Dell support is top notch btw. However, I still can't register the PC. The Dell Service Tag sticker was stripped off the PC too; you can still see the adhesive residue in the shape of a rectangle. Otherwise the PC is excellent...but makes me wonder what's the story. ... show more
