Two things: 1) know your technology when you purchase. I opened the case and didn't see a SSD or HDD drive attached to the sides - because things are more compact now, it was on the motherboard. My bad. The installed SSD is super fast and a rock solid 1T in size. Windows 11 Pro is great so far. 2) I was delighted that I could add my own internal HDD via SATA connectors. This doubled my storage capacity. Another PLUS: this is the fastest and quietest PC I have ever owned (and I built some with parts in the past that were pretty good, too, but not this good). Lastly, The vendor, NYpro Distribution were truly stand up folks that did an awesome job in communicating. I commend them! ... show more

The machine is excellent. Good price after $150 discount applied. Very fast performance with ethernet connection and SSD drive. WiFi is a USB dongle that comes with it, not internal. It's much slower than Ethernet. I was disappointed to find it did not have Blue Tooth already installed. I have ordered another USB dongle for that. So far there is nothing I do not like about this Dell Optiplex 7010. I am a retired electronics - computer technician. Dell has always been the top brand for me. This replaces a 10 year old Dell XPS8770 which still runs fine. It would not be completely compatible with Windows 11. At first I was very upset with the vendor NY Pro. The computer appeared in all ways to be brand new but when I tried to register it with Dell, it said it was already registered in the United Arab Emigrants. And the warranty had started in June 24. I did not receive it until September. I thought NY Pro had sent me a used computer. But they were very responsive to my concern and assured me that it was a new computer. It is Dell that I should be upset with. This computer was one of a lot of 38 that they sent to NY Pro. When they shipped them they went ahead and registered the computer with NY Pro which must have some roots back to the UAE. I don't understand why they did this. It cheats the end customer out of months of the 12 month warranty. I have yet to figure out how to communicate directly with Dell on this issue. NY Pro said they had their own 12 month warranty that would start when they shipped it to me in September. Now that the market has forced even Dell to build their computers in China, I hope the design quality lives up to their reputation. There is an issue with the 12th Generation Intel I-3, I-5 & I-7 processors. I read that it requires updating the BIOS which I dreaded, but when I registered the computer with Dell along with all of the other updates, it automatically re-flashed the BIOS. Extra compliments and thanks to Amazon's distributor NY Pro. UPDATE: I just learned that Dell has declared End of Life support for the OptiPlex 7010. Hopefully that won't be a problem. They seem to still being doing updates. ... show more

Got the product at the UPS store, as it needed to be signed for. NBD, but important to start with that. All the internals are exactly what I ordered and will totally work for my purposes. WD Green and Teamgroup RAM; not amazing, but not trash brands. However, I did not find a WiFi adapter in the box (or machine for that matter). I'm planning on using ethernet anyway, but this is something to seriously think about if you plan to purchase from this seller. It did come with the keyboard and mouse. I'm not sure why the seller did not put the adapter in a baggie and tape it in with the mouse. USB dongles are notoriously easy to lose. Therefore, 3 stars. Caveat emptor, but don't be dissuaded if you don't need WiFi. ... show more

This computer arrived with an existing warranty that had been activated in June 2024 in Dubai, UAE. Looking at Windows updates confirmed that some updates had been installed in June. I received the system from Amazon in October 2024 to my Texas address and thought I was getting a completely new system but apparently not. I suggest that everyone who orders one of these check the system out thoroughly before connecting it to the Internet to make sure it is truly new. Own Dell XPS8700 bought in 2012 but won't upgrade to Windows 11. Purchased this minimal tower to keep up with Widows upgrade. Small tower footprint, but wish there were audio ports in back, not just the one mini plug for headphone/speakers. Wish tower had 2 HDMI ports along with the DisplayPort.
