If you're looking for a solid, clean, general purpose machine at a decent price point, you really can't go wrong here. This was purchased for the front desk at a salon and fits the bill perfectly. It's a slower processor with slower memory, a 5400rpm hard drive, and no dedicated graphics, so by all means you should understand what you're getting: this is not a screaming fast PC. It's not going to play Call of Duty or edit 4K video. But you really won't notice the performance cap if you're just looking for an Office/Internet type of box, and the touchscreen display is surprisingly nice. The one thing that I would advise everyone to do is ACCEPT THE FREE WINDOWS 10 UPGRADE when you power on the unit, and elect not to save anything when prompted. This will install a much faster (and less annoying to use) OS and simultaneously dump all the preinstalled OEM bloatware that inevitably comes on over-the-counter PCs. This computer works great. I didn't take 8 hours to set up as some of the reviews have suggested. It did take a few minutes to start up the first time but no big deal. The screen looks great and the touch sensitive feature works well. The keyboard and mouse are both wireless but are a bit cheap looking. For the price of this computer you can treat yourself to a nicer keyboard and mouse if you wished. Other than what comes out of the built-in speakers the computer is SILENT; I haven't hear a fan running or even a peep out of the hard drive. Because it's all-in-one there's no bulky tower to sit under the desk. The screen size is really nice. My kids connected a wired Xbox 360 controller to one of the USB ports and were soon downloading games to play (ahem... not what I bought it for kids - get yer homework done!). Minion Rush played great without any problems - graphics looked smooth and fast. This machine may not suit the serious games player or someone looking for huge processing power but so far it has not had any problems running the run-of-the-mill stuff my family needs. I wanted a computer with a full size keyboard and a nice big screen that could be moved easily between different rooms unlike a full desktop. I find that laptops are fine for traveling but really uncomfortable with poor ergonomics for sitting at for long stretches of time, while this machine is as comfortable as a regular desktop because of the full keyboard and regular mouse that can be separated and placed wherever you want. Also I wanted a computer with a touch monitor small children can use. The touch monitor is excellent, and Windows 8 is especially designed to use touch technology. Also I wanted a reliable machine, and have over the years come to trust the Dell brand more than any other personal computer maker, because they use good components and are well engineered with designs that do not get too close to the edge and have excellent documentation on the Dell website. My first Dell, an XPS 1000, was bought in year 2000, and is still working. And I have not had any hardware trouble with the five other Dells I have used in four different locations, a GX280, an Optiplex 745, Optiplex 755, Optiplex 7010, and a Latitude 830 laptop. So I expect this machine to be very probably reliable. This item is not a cutting edge puter that is super fast or super duper or suitable for gaming. Instead it's a good old inexpensive workhorse that is not likely to let you down, and is good for touch screen users. ... show more

I should have known not to buy a Dell product. The thing logs into a black screen. I know this is probably more of a Windows problem than a Dell problem but I don't care. Called Dell support to see if they had a quick fix. Dell Indian support are idiots and just wanted me to ship the unit back. They had no idea what I was saying. The unit is nice. Good screen resolution, wireless mouse and keyboard. Mouse kind of sucks but has a cool magnetic cover. If you are going to sell it in the U.S. have you support in an English speaking country. ... show more

I don't get all the bad reviews. I was in the market for a new desktop. This is what I was leaning towards but the reviews had me scared, lol. I then put this in what I thought was my wishlist, continued with my one click to buy a new battery for my laptop and purchase this dell by accident! Apparently I put it in my basket not my wish list. So the cray cray came out and I panicked. Amazon's outstanding customer service said no problem just send it back or refuse package if I'm home. While it was being shipped I went to best buy and look at the one they had. I loved it. So I sent Amazon a letter stating I would just keep it and thanks for their awesome customer service. I have had this for a week now and I loooooove it. People need to understand what they are buying. This computer is a hybrid, part desktop and part tablet. I have my old tower which is now in the guest room for company and grandkids to run a muck on. If I need a DVD player or extra usb ports I use it or my laptop. This computer is fast, as long as you don't have every live tile going at once. Please keep in my mind that apps stay open in the background just like they do on our smart phones, tablets and Ipads. I closed down all the live tiles I don't want and unpinned them from the start up which will definitely slow you down. Now I'm as fast as lightning and I'm so very happy that I bought it by mistake. The picture on the screen is outstanding and the touch screen works beautifully. It is exactly what I wanted. Those that want more USB ports, how about a hub?
