Beautiful laptop and I think it's probably a good buy. But I've never owned a laptop and the learning curve is not what I expected. However, I'm a tad disappointed in that within 45 minutes of booting it up for the first time, I was asked to register a credit card for licensing for the Microsoft Office licensing - $129.00 to be exact. What gives? I thought a was guaranteed "lifetime" licensing upon my initial purchase. Will someone please explain? ... show more

After placing my order, I received an email from the seller, LightnigingSales (SN recorded) stating - "We purchased a copy of Microsoft Office 2021 Pro for you from a Microsoft partner. You can follow their instructions to download and install Office 2021 Pro. We want to send you the instruction and key via Amazon message/email instead of pre-installed/pre-activated it, just in case you need to re-install it in the future. Please note that it only works on one device." The product description did not disclose that Office Pro would not be pre-installed/pre-activated. I encountered problems with the download/install. I contacted the seller numerous times for assistance. I was told .. I was "doing it wrong" .. my "internet speed was too slow" .. the "file was corrupt". After several days of trying, the installation was never successful. The seller offered me a $36.50 refund for the trouble. Now, 3 months after my purchase one of the hinges has cracked/broken and I am unable to close/open the laptop. The broken hinge has now broken the trim/frame and is pulling the frame away from the screen. My laptop has not been dropped or mishandled. I do not travel with my laptop. My laptop stays in the same location at all times. I have now attempted to contact the seller about the broken hinge. I've sent 2 emails. I have had no response. ... show more

    • Missing some items, no backlit keyboard

I ordered the Dell with 1T storage and 32G ram and that's what I got. MS Office is actually pre-installed, so no need to download anything. However, I read the in-depth description before ordering because I specifically wanted a backlit keyboard and it was definitely listed as such, both on the phone app and PC format. It didn't come with one, however, and it also was missing the jump drive and the cleaning kit. I did contact the seller with a heads up of the missing items but never got them. Although it’s a solid workhorse, easy to use, super fast, and has a ton of storage, I decided that my need of the backlit keys were important to me, so ultimately I returned this laptop. There was no fee for returning before the deadline. I ended up getting the Dell Inspiron 16, which has a newer core and had the backlit keys. ... show more
