Bought this computer a few weeks ago and it's been solid. For a $1000 computer, you can't go wrong. It's fast and the features are good. Wish it would have had a touch screen. I originally thought it did when I was googling specs on this model, but it doesn't. Not a make or break for me. I use a docking station and wall mounted monitors with a separate keyboard when I'm at home, so it doesn't change how I use the computer at home. ... show more

  • DELL Inspiron? Don'tspiron! Exhale instead.
CPU: Ultra Core 7 RAM Size: 16 GB Hard Disk Size: 1 TB Graphics Description: Intel Arc Graphics Style: 16.0 2.5K
Planning on an Inspiron 16? Drop it! I purchased an Inspiron 16 direclty from DELL (I have an account with them) with extended four-year warranty with on-site service. DELL shipped me a lemon- useless - and refuses to repair it even with the additional warranty (the laptop is still under the original warranty.) There is an intermittent failure whereby external USB attachments are not recognized or intermittently disconnected. The built-in camera pixelates, goes blank, and the system reports no camera found. External drives USB-attached, are not recognized either. The mouse ceases to be recognized. When DELL's own SupportAssist reported hardware failures , DELL's support personnel dismissed the diagnostics their own monitoring software issued. The only "solution" DELL "Premium" support offered was to re-install (over and over again) the OS (Win 11.) However, since the OS has to be reinstalled from a USB recovery thumb drive, and the USB interfaces failed, the OS could not be, in fact reinstalled. The "remote diagnostics" agents (New Delhi, India) were generally uncooperative and spoke unintelligible English (even for me, working with colleagues from all over the world in Silicon Valley.) Many of these personnel hung up the calls. Finally, a blessed soul (Ms. U.R./ New Delhi) got lucky and the USB interface worked just long enough for Ms. U.R. to reinstall the OS. Ms. R. had complete remote control (DELL's Remote Assist) of the Inspiron 16; as she re-started the machine, fortunately she could see by herself the USB mouse dropping off, the system spouting error messages, the camera first pixelating, then going blank, and not recognized by the system. She recognized that reinstalling the OS fixed nothing. To shorten the Calvary this is being, after days on end on the phone with New Delhi, the Inspiron 16 was shipped to Texas to DELL's repair service. When shipping the Inspiron 16 to DELL, I provided ten pages of screen captures showing the error messages and failures. If you thought somebody read that helpful information, you'd be wrong. The memo was returned unread together with the Inspiron 16 and a letter stating that "the OS has been reinstalled, the unit extensively tested, and all is working." You already guessed what happened next upon turning the system on. First many hours for the Inspiron 16 to update by itself its OS (apparently Texas installed an old OS (?)) and then ... the USB interface failing, the internal camera pixelating and disappearing from the list of recognized devices, ... nothing was fixed after a month of time by DELL. I have had an account with DELL since about 2003, and was a DELL evangelist until I was sold a previous lemon. Nevertheless, I stuck with DELL for legacy issues. However, I could have guessed such a decline of what was once a respectable company. Now it feels as dealing with a shady devious entity, striving to defraud the customer. Inspiron? Don'tspiron! ... show more
