Pretty good little laptop, it’s thinner than I was expecting it to be and has some weight to it, but that makes it feel more sturdy. For a laptop that initially retailed as $1,250 a year ago, I was skeptical with how it would turn out, but so far it has been great. I specifically got it for school work, but it can do some light gaming as well. The fan does spin up if under heavy load and can be noisy, I would recommend getting some sort of cooling pad if doing anything intensive just to help keep the cpu temps low, but overall it does exactly what I was expecting it to be able to do, with some extra capability as well. ... show more

Good laptop overall, but a few cons. Here's my short review. First off, I never booted this laptop up in Windows. I installed Ubuntu 25.10 on it and EVERYTHING works out of the box. Bluetooth, Webcam, WiFi, Fingerprint Reader, etc. The good is that at this price point most laptops have 16GB of RAM but this one has 32GB which is why I picked it. But more on that later. Build quality is great. No it's not a Mac but this is the second new Dell I've got in about a year and as long as you avoid the cheapest ones it's amazing how far Dell has come recently. For daily usage include office, school, web development, etc. the Ryzen CPU and integrated GPU are great. Is it a gaming laptop? No. But that's not why you would buy this computer. In terms of AI work... yeah I'll stick to using cloud services or my NVIDIA-based workstation for that. There's nothing AI about these Ryzen AI processors except for their name. WiFi performance is decent. About 700Mbps vs about 800Mbps on my MacBook Air M4. Your performance may vary, just including this for comparison purposes. But... as for the RAM thing I mentioned earlier. I actually bought this laptop for its RAM. I assumed given that it advertised 32GB of RAM it would come with two 16GB sticks. I had two 8GB sticks in another computer and I was going to swap them so that the other computer had the 32GB and this one had 16GB as for what I'm using this for I don't need 32GB (but if I buy 32GB of DDR5 at retail for the other computer it's almost half the price of this entire laptop). Well, although it was nice that this Dell was easy to open (bottom panel comes off in under two minutes with just a few philips screws), I was VERY disappointed to find that Dell used a single 32GB stick vs two 16GB sticks in this computer. The reason this matters is that even with DDR5, although it matters less than it used to, dual channel delivers better performance, especially if you're actually utilizing the integrated graphics heavily. Now, this could vary based on the batch... in the real world, the performance difference can be anything from 10% to 40% depending on what you are doing!! if you're lucky, yours will ship with 2x 16GB vs the 1x 32GB mine shipped with. But it's something to consider. ... show more

I finally had to give up on my Dell 8900 XPS desktop, loved it. Was worried about using Window 11 plus I am going with a laptop and a Dell docking station. I was so surprised how much easier everything in stalls in Windows 11. I dumped all the trial software that came with it. I use OE Classic for an email client which was so easy to install and takes me back to the old Outlook Express day. Far cry from the old Windows 95!!!! I have an old Dell XPS Studio laptop that weighs a ton compared to this new laptop and I turned it into a Chromebook and it works just fine. New laptop came on time and in perfect shape. Plus I think a fair price. It is so much faster than the Window 7 is is replacing, I did like Windows 7 a lot however. Nice backlit keyboard too. Can tell about the battery life yet, it will spend most of it's time on the docking station anyway. It is so lite too weight like nothing. ... show more
