I was looking for a dehumidifier to put in our 24' X 8' basement laundry room. I wanted one that was WiFi-connected and app-controlled, so we would not have to constantly go down there and check on it. I was surprised at how few dehumidifiers had these features and how expensive most were. After doing some research, I decided to try the Whoy unit for about half the price of the name-brand competitors. I connected it to our WiFi, installed the app on my phone, and set it on automatic mode, which should keep the room at about 55% humidity. Within a couple of hours, my Airthings app showed humidity was drastically reduced, as you can see on the attached screenshot. I am very pleased with this item and am glad I decided to give it a try. I do wish the app would alert me when the water tank is full, but that won't be an issue once I connect the constant drain. Dehumidifier with App control. Our house is about 1700sq ft that had a bad flood. The dehumidifier pulled moisture out of the air quickly up to 50 pints max but I like the added feature of a drain hose for continuous draining. The device was quiter then expected and the App was simple to use. There dehumidifier has wheels, making it easy to move from room to room. The child lock was a nice added feature that we used to prevent the kids from mashing buttons. Overall, it works very well for our flood incident and has prevented mold from forming. ... show more

The Whoy 30 pint dehumidifier is all that was advertised and more. Very compact size for a 30 pint size unit. The sound level is quite and the customer service has been great with answering a question about wi-fi connection. Mobile app gives one very good control of the unit when away. I use this dehumidifier to, “keep the peace” in our house between my husband who likes the thermostat at 78 and myself who prefers 72. We agree on 75 which I can only tolerate with a low humidity. This Whoy dehumidifier is much quieter than my last dehumidifier and does not seem to affect my electric bill as much. I live in south Florida so I run the unit about 18 hours a day. My only wish is a larger bin so I wouldn’t have to empty the bucket twice daily. I do not use the continuous draining hose option for esthetic reasons. ... show more

Using it in my 8x12 studio/shed in humid Florida. In winter months, it took 1-2 weeks for the drain bin to fill.bin is easy to remove and empty. It’s getting more humid now in the spring so it now goes 3-5 days without emptying. Will be setting up the drain hose and draining it thru the floor in the building, but got a more substantial drain hose as the one that came with it did not seem too solid. It keeps the humidity in my space at about. 45-55. Auto shut off when bin is full is a great feature. It’s lightweight and on wheels so I can scoot it around as needed or easily lift it onto a table. This device really works! I live in north central Texas where it isn’t that humid, but in the summer humidity becomes an issue. If the humidity is in the 50-60% range I have to empty the reservoir twice a day. I was surprised how much moisture it pulls out of the air. I have tried to use the hose to connect it so it can drain into a sink, but I must be doing something wrong, because water is flowing into both the reservoir and the sink, but mostly into the reservoir. ... show more
