  • Quite fun once you learn the controls
I have an assortment of both land and air RC vehicles, so when I saw this one I knew I had to try it. It is mostly assembled right out the box and the tail and wheels are easy to pop in. The batteries are small and seemed to charge fairly quickly, though I don't know what amount of charge they had to start with. I put batteries in the remote and was ready to go. Since I have a number of trees around the front of my house, I took the plane to a nearby RC plane fliers club since it had a wide open field and solid surfaces as a runway. The remote is simple to operate, with the throttle on the left and the control stick on the right. It really didn't take much to get me off the runway and into the air. The auto-stabilization makes this plane extremely easy to fly. There was nearly no breeze the day I took it and that really helped me get a feel for the controls. The remote was peppy and it made for a fun experience. The two batteries got slightly different lengths of service, one lasting a little more than the quoted estimate and the other a little less, so assume it is an average. I'm sure wind conditions will affect that greatly. I was just happy I didn't fly it into the ground. Landing took a little practice, but you can get the feel of the throttle and stick to get it right pretty quickly. The plane itself is constructed of foam, with a rubber nose cone and plastic props. It is light and will take a little abuse, but hitting objects will take its toll quickly. I have since flown it in my front yard, which is about half an acre, with no problems once I learned the controls. The plane has stood up to multiple rough landings and I am pretty happy with it. Overall, it is a fairly easy to fly RC plane that I think is worth the money. ... show more

  • Remote control stunt plane
I had a remote control airplane as a kid that I could never get off the ground so I was curious to see how this would do. Setup was easy, although I didn't realize that the remote takes three AA batteries so don't be like me and get out there and then have to go back home to get batteries. It needs a long, flat runway, about 5-10 meters. Grass doesn't work. You can also launch by hand but that takes a little practice and requires two people (one to hold the plane and one to work the remote). Basic operation was quick to pick up but it's hard to make tight turns (there is a way but it takes some practice). Basic tricks are also pretty easy (flying vertical, 360* flip, flying upside down) but there is definitely room to get better and do some more impressive stunts. The range is very good, and it flies fast (although it can slow down to a more manageable speed). It's pretty durable, surviving a few hard landings. I would caution to make sure you have a very very large field, especially when first learning. I was using a double baseball field with a large outfield and still managed to lose it in a tree which was unfortunate. Again, it has to do with the wide turning radius (pitch) and difficulty mastering the yaw function If I had paid for it I would be disappointed about losing it but it's my fault for not finding a big enough field . I'll have to call the parks department and see if they will be willing to get a ladder. Definitely write your phone number on the wing, even if you think you can't lose it. Overall I think it's a great product, fun to play with but definitely for older kids ... show more

  • This thing's a blast for kids and adults alike
This thing is a blast and man I tell you what some of the other RC planes have been a pain in the butt to try to take off this thing's sweet. You can literally just hold the tail end of it and just kind of flip it up into the air and full throttle. Boom you're off and bombing. It's got this cool feature where you pressure the function button and then the plane goes vertical and it does like a stunt vertical type deal and then you push it again and it starts flying straight again. It does barrel rolls at the push of a button and it's got more than enough power. The thing is just vertical climb City all day long until well. It went quite a ways before I was afraid I was going to lose it. The only tip I would give you is when you crash. Don't try to keep spinning the props because you'll break them. I haven't broke them yet but I can imagine how they would break them. The landing gear won't survive a rough landing, but just put it down in the grass and you're good to go. Seems pretty tough though and man it's a lot of fun. At first I thought it was really kind of goofy looking but I get it. I get it now. I would highly recommend this for kids trying to learn or even adults that like having fun with them ... show more

  • Fun and Impressive RC Jet That’s Beginner-Friendly but Not Indestructible
I bought this DEERC brushless RC jet mainly for fun weekend flying, and it’s been a great experience overall. The plane comes well packaged and is mostly ready to fly out of the box, which is perfect if you don’t want to deal with complicated setup. The built-in gyro stabilization really helps, especially for beginners—it keeps the plane steady and forgiving during turns. The brushless motors give it plenty of power, and it’s surprisingly fast once you get comfortable with the controls. The LED lights are a nice touch and make it easier to see orientation in the air. Battery life is decent, though you’ll definitely want extra batteries if you plan to fly longer sessions. The EPP foam is lightweight and absorbs minor crashes, but it can still get damaged if you hit something hard. Overall, it’s a solid RC plane for beginners and intermediate flyers who want something fast, stable, and fun without a steep learning curve. ... show more
