Not difficult to install and has a nice, clean, finished look to it. This is a cat door for us and the only Con I have is that the magnet in the bottom of the flaps are way too strong. It creates too much resistance for a timid cat to push it’s face against to go through. Then if my cat does go through, it makes a loud click noise when the magnet reconnects to the metal. There are two flaps, one on the inside and one on the outside. I was able to remove one flap which helped to get the cats to go through it, but one of the cats still won’t use it. I would really like to be able to get replacement flaps without the magnet. Having the flaps weighted a little at the bottom is good, but the magnet is too much. I tried to remove the magnet, but I couldn’t. It is probably glued in place. I would have to remove, maybe cut the whole plastic piece that holds the magnet off the bottom of the flap, which would leave the flap too short to block the entire door hole. It’s a good, high quality product and I do recommend it, it just needs that one simple modification to give it 5 stars.

Solid quality materials. I had to get a little creative during installation, mainly because the instructions had me fasten pop rivets in the "tunnel" between the two halves after they're installed in the wall. With this small door, it's impossible to get a drill inside to make holes for the rivets. I was able to make them with a dremmel tool. The kit came with screws and drywall anchors that aren't mentioned in the instructions, and no place to use them. After a short time of bribing my small dog with treats, she figured it out and now goes in and out by herself all the time. It's great! My only complaint is that the magnets on the bottom of the flaps stick to the metal of the inside "tunnel" regularly, instead of flapping back down into position. Overall, I'm loving that my dog is free to come and go to the backyard without me having to let her in and out.

It's not installed yet..but the overall quality of the unit is extremely well for the price. The 20lb orange thing I call my cat will easily fit through the door passage... OK ..he could drop a few pounds ;) I'll update if the rating changes ..

I can't say anything negative about the door. I'm very happy with it, everything was as advertised. These pet doors are expensive but this was one of the least expensive ones that was the proper size (I purchased the small one for a few 20 lb dogs) and had the features I was looking for. I have no complaints with the door. I like that it is telescoping so I could install it in any number of walls with varying thicknesses. I like that both vinyl flaps are replaceable (you will be replacing these vinyl flaps It's not a flaw in the design It's just these little monster dogs use it so much the flaps will deteriorate). If you happen to see the pictures I posted with this review you will see I only have one vinyl flap installed currently as I'm training the dogs to get used to it. I like that you can easily slide on the inside and outside the plastic weather and security doors for when you are gone, I took a picture. Keep in mind this is only the door and some hardware. You'll obviously need the time to install it or pay somebody to install it. You will need your own caulk and any insulation and wood blocks and of course your own tools. I plan on cutting and sticking some vinyl or rubber then placing it inside to cover any screw heads, rivet heads and to cover the seams.

Great cat door, good value for money. My son in law followed the instructions and used the template to install the door from the (interior) great room to the screened in porch. Total installation time, from start to finish, including caulking and clean up, was two hours. Chuck the cat started using it, after the caulk was set, several hours later.

Installed between a catio and screened deck. Had to do a little monkey engineering. We removed the flaps (extra credit for those being easily removed), because my cats didn't like them, but they weren't necessary in my situation.

The media could not be loaded. Still training to go through and start the flap.. they will go through if I hold up the flap and I let it drag across them. But I’m trying to get them used to pushing on the flap maybe a lighter flap without magnets or going down to one flap is going to help me. We’re going on about three weeks of training. It’ll take time but I like the product. And in the end the insulation of magnetic flap is important after they are not scared and know it’s movable .
