I love the way this double flap pet door looks. It's made of good quality materials and I feel like it's built to last, (but I'll update later on down the road to see how long it lasts). It fit perfectly in the space I have and the size is good for my cats. When you need to block either side off, the slide piece that is provided is quite secure and easy to use. The flap itself is made of a thick, durable vinyl. My insulation in particular was actually a fully interior one, to provide my five cats access to my room when the door is closed. I installed it high enough though so the resident Chihuahua can't get through LOL I'd have to say the ONLY thing I don't love about it is the last step in the install where you have to drill a hole into the inside of the wall tunnel whilst the unit is in place, then you will either screw it in place or use the rivets provided. Idk if I didn't follow the directions correctly or whatever but this step was difficult for me to get a good angle with my drill, so the screws stick out a little bit. I don't like it! But, like I said, perhaps I didn't follow the directions correctly because this seems like such a rudimentary problem, I would not expect such a great unit to have such a weird issue. It would be so much easier if they drilled the holes for you but then again, everybody 's wall width is not the same so that wouldn't work either. Whatever the case may be, I love this pet door. The only thing left for me to do is teach my cats how to go through it because their other pet door is a single flap so they think they're not supposed to come in the double flap door LOL even after I push them through, they are totally ambivalent about it. But some temptations treats on the other side of the door should fix that problem lol

Great cat door ! My walls are 8 ins. thick and got this to work. Cats took to it right away ,love the great look and easy opening of the flaps when pushed,but wind does not open ,like swinging cat doors. Already feel a difference in insulation of room 98 degrees outside now ! Great for the price on Prime days ! Also like that replacement doors are cheap and available if needed ! This is the small door witch is plenty big for my fat cat to enter ! Did not use any rivets or screws, tightly fit opening and adhesive and caulking only,no objects on inside for cats to scrape against! !

Not difficult to install and has a nice, clean, finished look to it. This is a cat door for us and the only Con I have is that the magnet in the bottom of the flaps are way too strong. It creates too much resistance for a timid cat to push it’s face against to go through. Then if my cat does go through, it makes a loud click noise when the magnet reconnects to the metal. There are two flaps, one on the inside and one on the outside. I was able to remove one flap which helped to get the cats to go through it, but one of the cats still won’t use it. I would really like to be able to get replacement flaps without the magnet. Having the flaps weighted a little at the bottom is good, but the magnet is too much. I tried to remove the magnet, but I couldn’t. It is probably glued in place. I would have to remove, maybe cut the whole plastic piece that holds the magnet off the bottom of the flap, which would leave the flap too short to block the entire door hole. It’s a good, high quality product and I do recommend it, it just needs that one simple modification to give it 5 stars.

I was originally going to give this a 4 because it does not secure to the wall. I had to give my dog to a rescue because there was an incident with my 5 month old. I had locked him outside for the night because I didn't know what to do. He managed to take the outer casing of his dog door out and ripped it to shreds, as it was plastic. It also was "secured" to the wall, supposedly, yet he ripped it out so... Anyways, because there is no securing to the wall, you have to secure it internally, which I feel like was supposed to be done with my last dog door, but the guy who did it, didn't do that and I trusted his work. So, I actually feel like this is more secure now than it was before. Only problem for me is that I have outter concrete walls which are thicker than any dog door tunneling so I used the extender I had for my other dog door (what you see in black) and secured each side to that. Because I do not have a dog anymore I bought this to secure both sides of the wall, as my last one only had one side secured. This is also steel, which was a pain to secure together, but worth the effort. All in all, great deal and great product. One of the magnets on the flap was falling out though so I am to reinstall that piece, but no big deal, relatively easy to do.

Bought this for my cats. Super easy to install once the wall space was prepped. I did not permanently combine the two pieces inside, as I was going to need to remove it for some construction, but the fit was nice and snug and there were no concerns. It is holding up really well. I have two cats, and I kept the flaps "up" for a week (curve them to the inside) and used treats to entice them. Then I put one flap down, but they wouldn't go through because the "click" of the magnet scared them. So I taped chopsticks under the flap so the magnet wouldn't engage, and pushed them through a few times. After about a week, I removed the chopsticks and they push through just fine now. My younger cat barrels through like a speed train through a tunnel now. It is funny to watch. They LOVE going in and out to the 3-season porch whenever they want to. So far the value has been good.

This product changed our lives! We have three cats and constantly letting them in and out the house was a second job. It didn’t take as long as I thought for them to get used to it. There are two flaps which helps keep out the heat/cold or any undesirable critters. It’s very sturdy, sealed well to the side of the house, and is made really well, easy to install. My husband build a cute little porch on the side of the house underneath the door so it looks like a little apartment door, just adorable!
