Description

From 1 New York Times bestselling author Freida McFadden comes an electrifying medical thriller, Dead Med, originally published as Suicide Med. "All I can think about is how pathetic it would be to die in the anatomy lab. The last thing I want is to become one of the dead bodies." When Heather McKinley dreamed of becoming a doctor, she imagined curing sick kids and sporting pink stethoscopes. She never anticipated the sleepless nights, grueling exams, and endless labs. And she certainly never knew that her medical school earned the nickname Dead Med thanks to the tragic history of students overdosing on illegal drugs. But Heather would never consider doing anything like that. That is, until her longtime boyfriend dumps her, she finds herself failing anatomy, and her world starts to crumble. Everyone has a breaking point. Then, on the night before the final exam in anatomy, a shot rings out through the hallways of Dead Med. The school has claimed yet another casualty. One of Heather's classmates has done the unthinkable, and before her desperate 911 call even connects, it will happen again. And the night is just beginning. NOTE: Dead Med was originally published as Suicide Med. Dead Med is a revision with 20% new material. Read more

  • Fun listen
I enjoyed listening to this book. Frieda did a great job transitioning the story telling perspective from character to character and slowly building the plot and story through the various characters. I’m not always a fan of novels that jump back and forth a lot, but in this novel each character’s portion of the story is continuous until it changes to the next character so it doesn’t feel disjointed of like a brain teaser. ... show more

  • she did it again
Frieda always coming out with amazing books but this one has to be one of my top favorites, lots of characters but made it very cohesive and readable. Loved everything about this highly recommend

  • Kinda good, kinda meh
Don't get me wrong, I love Freida, but this book bugged me in a few ways. Some minor spoilers ahead. First, it begins strong with some suspense, but then it goes back in time and we see events from different characters' perspectives, but it starts with a fairly boring character, and I'm sure it's supposed to portray that this character is not super bright, but it came across as poor writing. Then there were just too many characters' perspectives. Then it suddenly gets exciting and suspenseful again, to just end suddenly. Finally there's a flash-forward epilogue that kinda tries to tie everything together again, but just ends with me wanting more ... show more

  • Dead Med
Such an intense book. I like the way this book was written by writing about a single student one at a time from their perspective and revealing how they played a role in what occurred. Also, how the first chapter was really ... I won't spoil it. Happy reading!

  • ?????
I loved how the author wrote from different character perspectives. That part of the book was extremely good. I just wished the ending was better. I did not really like the ending.

  • Good read!
This was a bit different in that there were several different people's perspectives leading up to the climax at the end of the book. I'd definitely recommend this book.

  • An outstanding revision!
Having read the original, which is a standalone in itself, this version seems to be more reflective of Ms. McFaddens style and growing talents as they've evolved to this present day. Dead Med is smoother, more polished; any initial "shocks" in it's predecessor, those wrinkles have been ironed out, "necessary" changes have been made. This is a literary work of art, not that it's ancestor was worthy of any criticism. This book was an enjoyable breeze to read. Highly recommended to anyone, as well as medical professionals worldwide for it's vast entertainment value as well as it's accuracy of terminology. Ten stars if I could, by all means. I look forward to her future publications, having already devoured most of the past ten years worth. Those still unread I'm savouring. Happy reading! ... show more
